So when i started MFP i weighed 145 and i'm a F 5"4. The first month of MFP I exercised almost everyday. On the weekends sometimes i binged really badly and throughout that time period i really messed up but then one weekend i was good and it leveled out and overall i lost 5 pounds. August (now), I started doing the 30 day shred and there was one weekend i reallly binged like crazy and right now the scale says 141 and at nights like 144... I do feel better and look better.. but i'm SOOO frustrated I didn't lose any weight this month. I'm on like day 15 with 30 day shred... I just don't know what to do... so I was at 1200 calories so i uped it to 1 pound a week but that only made it 1240 which i can't imagine makes such a difference so i don't understand that..
If i make it for a half a pound a week that's like 1500 calories i think and thats sooo scary to eat that much!! (don't get me wrong i do usually eat back most of my calories)
I also go out to eat a lot so i usualyl estimate food... so that could also be messing me up
I'm SOOOOO STRESSED OUT
how long do i have to wait to see if what i'm doing is working or not....
maybe i just need someone to say everything is gonna be okk haha

If you're gonna binge, do so on things like frozen grapes, frozen blueberries, sugar snap peas, cherry tomatoes. Eat as many whole raw foods as you can. Salad with every dinner. You'll end up being less hungry because you'll eat more and there not have any reason to binge. Good luck.0

It's hard to say because 1) we are all different, 2) the body does not drop fat linearly, 3) there are a lot of daily fluctuations depending on food, digestion, sodium, hormones, water retention, Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness, etc. The trend needs to go down. You can do everything right (diet and exercise) and seem to be on a plateau a long time and suddenly it drops. You drop a lot of weight in the beginning and then it slows way down and gets slower and slower. The whole process takes a lot of patience. It would be good to get on a calorie deficit where you can be more consistent without binging. Sometimes the binging is emotional and that may need to be resolved before you try a diet plan.0

You need to record everything you eat and if your unsure of one or two things I would over estimate.. We are our biggest critics. Take the scale and give it to a friend for a month record everything you eat work out meet your weekly goals and in 30 days then step on the scale.. I'm telling you stepping in that thing everyday well or even every week for me drove me nuts... & yes u will be okay ❤0

You need to get thing in order. Try to be more consitent with your food (the whole weekend binge can really set you off track). Try not to estimate calories. Its amazing how off we can be. I found an order of french fries at a certain place is 2100 calories..yes, two thousand , one hundred calories for one order of fries!!!
I spent my first few months adjusting my calories up and down every week and got nothing but frustrated. Find a number you can live with. And stick with it for at LEAST 2weeks....if you find a couple of days in a row where you are really hungry, up it by 100 calories only. If you find a few days when you are struggling to eat it all (assuming its not below 1200)...then knock it down 100 calories.
There are alot of restaurant foods in the database...I just type in the name of the place and find alot of things show up (that works good when I go to a buffet...its alllll there) Ive also found that a burger at a restaurant is sometimes 2 or 3 times what it would be (calories) when I make it at home!!! So take that into consideration.
You wil lhave weeks where you drop pounds and weeks when you do nothing....dont get discouraged. Also take body measurements and pictuers....those help ALOT!
I havent lost a pound since the end of May but have gone down a size in jeans and lost almost 3" around my waist...things re'arrange.
Good for you for asking for help!! But just settle...lol....and stay on course0 -

Hate to break it to you, but until you take this seriously, it's NOT going to work or "be okay"... Log everything, don't estimate anything (I used a measuring cup) and keep your tush moving.
Everyone has to find what works for them (every body is different) but I will add that I am close to you in height and beginning weight, and being diligent is what got me BELOW my goal weight. You can do it, but you have to WANT it...:flowerforyou:

Thanks.
When i say estimating calories though i mean like for example i went to a meat restaurant today and ordered shish kebob... the database said it was 6 ounces but im not sure if what i ate was 6 ounces or less...0 -
I use to eat out a lot too.. but I notice I couldn't really count my calories if I didn't make it myself! So its been a week n now Im.use to making my meals n loging in is easier.. plus if u don't knw ur intake on calories n ur working out ur probly not burning enough calories to see a change.0

i think practicing making "conscious decision" is very important, really give yourself 10 sec to think before grabbing that bag of food of your typical habit. I practiced this while out shopping with my sister and we both wanted to grab a fried chicken. Instead i said no and opt for sushi instead. although that fried chicken was very very tempting TT_TT0
