There is no right or wrong way to do the 30 Day Shred.
No you do not have to do it for 10 days each on each level. You move on when ready.
If Level 1 is too easy for you it is perfectly fine to start on Level 2.
If Level 3 is too hard for you it is perfectly fine to go back to Level 2.
Getting in 30 days is an accomplishment in itself.
No you do not have to do it for 30 days straight.
Resting IS optional.
Also it gives your muscles time to heal.
I love this DVD because you can configure it to your needs and schedule and each level is just 20 minutes of giving it your all! Along with a good diet you WILL see results. Not necessarily in the scale but in inches!! (I feel like a spokesperson now )
OK. That is all!! Feel free to add me if you do the 30 DS. We can all use the motivation.

I really like this DVD... even though I have gained 2 pounds doing it. So, i took my measurements at the half way point... down two inches. I was shocked.0

Thanks for saying that it is OK to not do the whole thing in 30 days.
I was trying to do the 30 Day Shred and I still am. My muscles were getting sore and I was getting angry for "having" to do the the video. So I put some rest days in there. I am a 240 pound women who has not exercised other than walking in way to long of a time. I started on August 14 and I am now on Level 1 Day 9. Hoping to complete that tonight. It is still really hard but I would like to move on to level 2 to at least give it a try after I finish 10 days of level 1. We will see after that if I stay on level 2 or move on.0 -
I'm hoping to finish Level 1 this week. I've had several rest days, unfortunately. However, it had not hindered my endurance or strength.
I hope to be more diligent on Level 2.0 -

I always feel much stronger after a rest day. It also helps from getting discouraged.0 -
I am starting to night! Looking forward to the sore muscles, yea!0

I definitely agree! I just finished Day 7 of the shred, and I've lost 4 inches total --including the 2 in my waist (from a 31.5 to 29.5). The scale hasn't moved yet, but just seeing that waist slimming and my muscles toned? greatest.feeling.ever. MAN. and now? OH... and I went from doing like 3 girly push-ups on the first day to 22 girl pushups in a row on Day 7!!0

That's great, well done, I can do more than when I started :laugh:0 -

That's a big improvement! I can do man push ups now but not a lot.0 -
i'm on my second round now using 5 pound weights. it took me about 45 days to do the first round, i think the rest days helped and i had a 5 day vacation thrown in but found that i came back and was even stronger!!!0

I use 4 lb weights and it still kills me everytime.0

I started in January and have never really done it straight through. I exercise in the mornings before work so this is a perfect video for me to do. 30 DS is also my go to after every break (holiday or week away for work). I'll do a couple of days on each level before progressing - I've only done level 3 maybe a dozen times.
I have horrible upperbody strengh so I vary the weights accordingly. The 'rows' I can use 5lbs. Pretty much everything else is 3 lbs except for the V-squats on level two leaves me hurting using 1 pounders LOL
I, too, recommend doing what you can and don't listen to Jillian0 -
Here are my results...
I finished 30 DS yesterday 8/30. I gained 2 pounds.
My stomach (around my belly button) went from 38 to 35.5
My waist went from 33.5 to 31.5
Thighs: 21.5 to 21
No sucking in on either pic...

i've attempted this before, the most i made it was 15 days. my body just hit a wall and physically just could NOT do the exercises no matter how hard i tried to push each time. even with resting and changing levels. anyone else ever experience this? i was getting plenty of food and water.0
-
Thanks for clarifying! I'm attempting it in September and Im glad to know I can take a rest day if I need it0

Thanks for posting this! I have the DVD and will be starting it the day after Labor Day. I'm hoping to do it in addition to my other workouts (walking, biking, jogging)--but, I'll have to see how it goes.0
