hi, i have been tracking my food for a couple of months now and eat a lot of brown rice, but today i bought some rice and it said that in 75g of uncooked rice their is about 180g of rice cooked obviously this is because the water has soaked into the rice, so is their more carbs in the rice after its been cooked or does it stay the same, or for example say if im gonna eat 75g of rice do i need to weigh it after its cooked to 75g or before i cook it, i fear i may have been taking in more carbs from the rice, please someone clear this up for me, thanks

so if i measure out 75g of uncooked rice will the carbs stay the same after its been cooked0

when a food (like rice/pasta) absorbs water, it doesn't 'gain' any extra carbs/calories (unless you cook in broth). The volume changes, the calories don't.0

1/2 cup of uncooked rice will cook up to a 1 cup volume, 1 cup of uncooked makes 2 cups cooked
are you using the right conversion? I also wouldn't *fully trust* the nutrition info on here, it is entered by users, and I have found several mistakes calorie wise.0 -

Occasionally some rice products will recommend adding a tablespoon of oil, some salt, or some butter to the boiling water. If you're just boiling with water the only thing that is changing is the volume/weight. It's all physical changes, no chemical reactions.0 -
how i do it is i weigh ut the amount i want when its uncooked then cooked it and eat it, it says on the nutrition label typical values (as consumed) per 100g 21 carbs so does as consumed mean when its uncooked0

Weigh it before you cook it.
After you cook it, all you've added is water which has no carbs in it.0 -
