I am addicted to energy drinks and soda. It's practically what I drink all day.
I need to stop this! But I get caffeine migraines... and I get weak and give in. And I need to change my habits! Has anyone else had these problems? Any insights on how to quit the sugary goodness without the sick that comes with it?
Cheers!

Obviously. But the migraines I get from not having caffeine are dibilitating. I just wanted to know if anyone had this problem and maybe something that helped them with it.0

Usually two or three days of awful headache (withdrawal sucks) and then I can go without soda for as long as I wish, but I like soda so I now just limit how much I drink of it.0

I cut way back, Soda used to be the only thing i drank from morning to night. And like you I got headaches if i did not have it. I swiched my caffine to coffee and then started drinking more water, Now i am lucky if i drink four or five sodas a week, But i do drink about a pot of coffee a day, but i am drinking from 96 to 128oz of water everyday which I never did before0

If you want to quit, you're going to just have to take a pain killer and ride out those headaches. They shouldn't last long. They might not even be as severe if you ween yourself off the drinks.0

Everyday replace one of your sodas or energy drinks with water until you are only drinking water. That should be slow enough to wean off without headaches.0

Everytime you have a craving, remind yourself of all the crap that is in those drinks (about 10-13 teaspoons of sugar on average per drink), not to mention how much the caffiene and guarana affects your blood pressure and heart-rate! Just keep thinking of your poor heart struggling to pump all that blood constantly when you have had an energy drink!0

I get caffeine withdrawal headaches too. What usually works for me is taking either Excedrin or BC Powder for headache. Both of these medicines have some caffeine in them, so it works better for me than just regular ibuprofen. I'm drinking my 3rd soda for since about Saturday, which is a major improvement for me. All other times I drink water. Good luck!0

I used to get migraines when cutting out soda so I'd stop doing it and go back to drinking it. The only way to do it, is to just go through the migraines. They wear off, so does the need for soda. The longer you leave it the worse it gets, plus you build it up in your head to be worse than it is. You can do this.

If you don't like water as it is, take a large 1.5 litre bottle (that's around 50oz I think) and fill it up with 100ml juice. Just for the taste. That doesn't cut into your calories and carbs too much. :drinker:0

Track them. Go steady state. Reduce by one, add water for 3-4 days. Rinse, Repeat. Should reduce the caffeine effect.
I'm down to 3 cups of coffee a day. From 8 or so.0
