The NSV's are outweighing the scale victories

Usually as I began to lose weight I'd get to a point and get comfortable then go back to my old eating habits and gain everything back plus some. This time for the first time in a long time I have taken myself past that point. I have not stopped and gone back to my old habits. I'm seeing things I haven't seen in years, like losing weight in my feet, seeing veins in my hands and now for the first time ever in my arms, my dimples are coming back, and cheek bones I didn't know I had. My wife said my nose is slimming and elongating, I was reading about collar bones, I don't remember ever seeing them but I will. I felt a hip bone while laying down the other night, the every day changes are strange. You never know what you're going to see or feel next. IT'S GREATTTTT. It is so worth the battle and makes me wish I had stuck with it years ago, but makes me appreciate it so much more now. Thanks to all my friends on here and I hope I can help you as much as you've driven me.

You really have done a fabulous job!
I agree - the nsv's are more satisfying. Feeling fitter and more able to do things, finding those bones and fitting into smaller clothes. It certainly improves your confidence which helps in every area of life.
I wish I'd done this before as well, but I may not have met all you lovely friends! For me this is the right time x0 -
A time and place for everything0

I am with you there... I was in bed last night and I actually felt my hip bone... It was weird!! and I can sorta see my collar bone too, ok I may be imagining it, but still. It's totally worth way more than that number on the scale...
Congrats to you! I hope you keep up the good work!0 -

It's amazing how the little things can have such a positive effect on people. I know with me, the scale doesn't go down much and I'm used to not relying on the scale either. I know I've lost inches because, like you, I am noticing veins on my hands and arms, knuckle bones, hip bones, and I'm noticing more of a shape to my body. These small NSV's are definately more of a powerful force to drive weight loss and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Great job, keep it up:)0 -
I can understand where you are coming from, now that I have reached my initial goal of 100 lbs lost I am taking the time now to notice all the changes my body is going through. Depsite all of the obvious changes from losing that much, everything is shifting as well and it's like I can almost see it before my eyes. You will have these proud moments no matter how small you think they may be they are a huge accomplishment. Congratulations on your success so far and feel pride, you deserve it!0
