:flowerforyou: Hello, I have been on this site for awhile and was doing ok. But as of last November I left my now ex husband and have had a hard time staying on track. We share 50/50 custody of our 2 year old so I think that has contrubited to me not working out. I feel if I do workout the days I have her (which are mostly work days) I am taking away time I can spend with her. Then the days I don't have her I am typically busy. So I am finding it hard to get back on track. So I am just sort of looking for advice from others who may have experienced this or just have some usuful words. Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!!

You look so young! My daughter & her friends are on here too... they are in their 20s. Maybe you would like to add them as friends for support?
I will certainly add you as a friend though and be here if you need any support! I had scheduled exercise too!0 -
Kids make it tough for sure!!! I don't have any - so take this with a grain of salt (is it bad to say that on a diet site??), but the ones who do say that what motivates them is the knowledge that the healthier they are, the more energy they will have to be able to spend with their kids through their lives. Think of it as quality vs. quantity. Or even try going for walks with her in the stroller, she gets to be out in the beautiful California sun, and you get the good exercise. That way you get a little of both. I am more than happy to be your friend on here as well, but that is what motivates the people I know who are in your same situation!!0

One can work out with a child.
You can even involve the child in some way, have child count, if your child is old enough to.
Or have child draw a dot each time you sit up.
Have child hold your feet during situps, make her feel very important for doing that for you, act like you "need" that help,
or participate in some way.
Praise child for her doing that. Kids love praise.
Or have child do the exercises, too, as best as she can. Play upbeat music that the two of you work out to.
Or, give the child something to do for ten minutes while you work out.
Some playdoh or drawing, and tell child, "If you draw me a picture, while i do situps, then we will go walking around the block as your prize for being so good while i do my situps" or something.
Set a buzzer for every hour, and each time it goes off, act very excited and happy to do ten minutes of exercising. If YOU convey to child this is fun,
the child of that age will believe you. <----that might have added side-effect of helping YOU develop good ideas about exercising, like "fake it til you make it" kinda thing.
A work out does not have to be an hour long,
even snatching ten minutes here or there,
can help.
Might even be great way for you to wade into exercising, just 10 minutes at a time for now,
that will add up each day.
Or exercise during all tv commercials.
You *might* be teaching your child an important life lesson,
that working out is fun, necessary, etc,
when child is still open to developing her ideas of what a grown-up DOES do every day.
Or, playing with a two year old, can be a workout in itself! Take child to the park, and you do everything the child does. Kid will LOVE that.
Or, you could consider getting a bicycle seat for your child,
a buggy that attaches to the back of your bicycle,
or maybe one of these:

so you could do this:

It sounds like you are facing some difficult times right now,
and i think exercising can help you feel better, stronger (dawg knows you will need your strength right now)
and exercising could help you feel more positive, and be a great stress-reducer.
If anyone could use a lil blast of endorphins, it'd be you.:flowerforyou:
BEST OF LUCK, YOU CAN DO IT!!!0
