Excited for my future related to exercising

So DH is going to be home shortly, gone away for work, and we've been texting while he was gone and our idea is that we will start working out together. We will start out slow and work our way up. just recently we got a treadmill for free and we have the Wii Fit, so we are going to use the 2 together that when one of us is on the Wii, the other will be on the treadmill and take turns back and forth. i'm excited for this, because I figure if we do an hour a day that will be great for me. Plus I love the idea that if I exercise I get to eat more but I'm having a problem just eating everything I need to right now.

So do you workout by yourself or workout with someone else? What do you do for exercise?

  • Hi, I am relatively new at this, I go to the Gym, I'm lucky I live in a really small town so we pretty much know everyone. Its nice to go to the Gym and know someone is looking for me to be there. I don't really excercise with anyone but its motivating to know someone will miss me if i'm not there. Sometimes it's so hard, like tonight, it is snowing so hard and all I wanted to do was go home and start a fire. but right after work i went. my mantra is "I don't want to be fat forever" we actually have a wii and i was thinking about getting the fitness deal, does anyone know if its any good. any yea or nays out there
  • I started running and doing things like crunches and pushups to help me get ready for my 5k coming up in less than two months. A lot of pressure!! But i found a great way to get cardio done at home cuz its been raining for a while now and havent been able to workout as much. Hulu.com has some exercise videos you can watch and follow, my favorite is jillian michaels cuz she does a great job and knows how to lose weight. Or to have some fun, try carmen electras workouts.

    DH and I go to the gym together (although he doesn't really want to, but he does because it makes it easier for me to go), but I do the Wii by myself. At the gym (treadmill), I do the Couch to 5K (C25K) running program. I just finished week 1 and will start week 2 this weekend. If you're interested, check out coolrunnings.com. There are also podcasts and smartphone apps that are really helpful. For the Wii, I am really liking the EA Sports Active and Biggest Loser.

    I think the taking turns is a great idea! I wish we had enough room to have a treadmill in the house!

    It used to be a battle when my BF and I would go to the gym together. I come from a school background in kinesiology and he has been a minor pro hockey player for ever so we come from two different backgrounds in working out. We'd drive each other crazy over who was doing things the right way.

    Now we've finally decided to just do our own things. :happy:
