WHAT the heck are these!??

During the middle of my upper body workout, I looked down at my arms and I noticed tiny red dots all over! Not raised or itchy dots, just dots. I felt and still feel perfectly fine...
Could they be broken capillaries/blood vessels from lifting heavier weights?
FYI - I didn't take or eat anything preworkout...
A professional medical diagnosis would be greatly appreciated :flowerforyou: ...or just some opinions/personal experiences. I'll take whatever I can get.

Probably broken capillaries like you said. I used to get them all the time on my shoulders when using the standing calf raise machine because of all the weight on my shoulders. It never hurt and but looked bad...always went away after a couple days until the next time I used it.0

It could be an exercise induced allergy, one of my girlfriends gets them all over her legs after running, she puts cold compresses on after her workout and that seems to keep them at bay.0

Thanks for the responses.
I've gotten red marks on my shoulders in the past from calf raises... these are tiny dots all over my arms -- different from what I saw from the calf raises.
An exercise induced allergy? I didn't know one existed, although I am not surprised. I've been working out for years and this has never happened...

I know exactly what you are talking about as a quick check of my arms shows me that I actually have them right now! A friend of mine guessed that it was probably broken capillaries also.0

I get them too. Mine are broken capillaries, and lots of things will cause them. Worst was when I had my daughter. Whole face, shoulders, upper arms and the whites (well, REDS) of my eyes.
No big deal. :ohwell:0 -
So, I've stopped worrying about them... but now I'm just curious, lol. Why did I get them now and not when I was lifting/running/workingout like crazy years ago?0

Are you leaner now? If so they may have been covered by fat before just like people get more vascular when they are leaner. No clue though as I have never heard of such before.0 -

Yes, I am significantly leaner now and lifting a lot heavier. You're right, I could have always been this way... it is still odd though0
