I am new on here and want to know how to go about entering my strength training as each time I enter an exercise with free weights, it does not recognize it. Thanks for any advice!

I can't get mine to either so I am guessing no.0

ok, thanks. That's too bad because then when you don't to cardio it makes you look like you were lazy!0

I agree, today was the 1st time in months that I did and then couldn't even count it. Kind of weird because others say that it is so important to do weights, but doesn't make a difference in burning calories.0

It does not count regular strength training. Really stinks. I think I work harder in the weight room than I do on my runs but I do not get credit for it. So, unless I do not want to look like I have gone over my allotted calories on weight room days, I have to starve. I do not like that feature (or lack of feature) on MFP.0

When I do a p90 workout, I enter it as circuit training. I know I'm a sweaty mess when I'm done with a P90 chest/back workout, so I burned a good number of calories.0

if you are doing weight training for an hour this should burn about 400 to 500 calories....It does stink that they do not have this feature, because I lift four to five days a week...0

I use the "strength training" in the cardio section and just enter the amount of time. The strength training section is a pain for me. I would be entering data all day and I don't have time for that.0

to get the calorie burn from 'strength training' or at least an estimate you can go
exercise > CARDIO> add exercise > search "strength training"
if you're trying to log "the lift you did" to track progress over time with weight / sets / reps you will find results under strength training by searching for the body part worked out...
IE
BicepsBiceps Curl
Seated Biceps Curl
Standing Biceps Curl, Dumbell
TricepsTriceps Extension
Triceps Push Down
Triceps Pull-down
ChestBench (Chest) Press, Machine
Mid Row, Chest Supported, Machine
BackBack Butterfly
Back Extension
Front Chin Up, Close-Grip, Palms Back
LegsAbdominal Leg Raise
Bent-Leg Kickbacks
Calf Raises, Single-Leg
Deadlift, Straight Leg
Leg Curls
Leg Extension
Leg Press
Leg Pull-In, Seated Flat Bench
Leg Raises, Hanging
Side Leg Raises
Vertical Leg Lift, Knees Bent (Dip Bars)
Vertical Leg Lift, Knees Straight (Dip Bars)
Why there's not a drop down list like there is for cardio I don't know... ( see exercise > database and look in the top right corner, there's a drop down list of "all" currently available cardio exercises0 -
:flowerforyou: I wear my heart rate monitor when I'm doing strength training and it tells me how many calories I burned........then I can use the MFP "strength training" entry under cardio or create my own entry to show it under cardio.0
