Only 4 episodes... I'm in bits, they need to carry it on and keep doing new recipes!!! They were such good recipes, I've done the roast chicken twice now, (tonight the 2nd time!)
Has anyone else tried them???
Got any other good-tasty-filling-not going-to-make-me-fat recipes

I loved that show! I've always been a fan of them, but would never have tried there high fat, high cal food...
Last night i tried their lasange (altered slightly as i am vegan using vegan mine and cheese) I can't say i followed the quatitiies that well, but it was AMAZING!
Will be buying the book!0 -
I'm gutted that I missed it all, well I think I caught a few minutes of one episode but that was all.
I'll keep a look out and see if it'll be repeated0 -
It's on iplayer!!
Watched them all & was amazed by the all round approach that the showed.
Will be buying the book when I see it!
My mate Liz was great on there......0 -

Watch on BBCiPlayer That's what I do0 -
I missed it but apparently the book has flown off the shelves!!0

I agree great show! I've made the lasagne I was surprised how well the leek pasta worked!0
-
I actually had no idea there was a book erm... google time!0
-
I made the Chilli, with the shaped wraps and it worked. The Chilli was amazing too, never eating it any other way from now0

We've gone back to planning our meals through the month - half of the recipes in there are from that one book! Everything we've had from it so far has been fantastic. They're a good inspiration as I can associate with their love of food (cooking and eating) and I can associate with the waistline.... if they can do it , so can I!!0

If you go on BBCFOOD. website all the recipes are on there until you can buy the book.0

I use this site as it has some really good recipes and it also breaks it down into the different values

Am glad to read this! I loved the show but hesitated buying the book as so many of the recipes are meat based and I'm veggie. Might get it now if veg mince works0 -

That's how we got by until the book came - the great thing about the book is the fact there are a whole bunch of new awesome recipes that weren't on their show. The Sham-pagne that they made though is only on the web it would seem - that was pretty tasty (although it is tricky to find that Orange Blossom Water)...0 -
It was brilliant - they have a book coming out next week. You can pre-order it on Amazon.
We had the Special Cassoulet on Tuesday night - it was lovely.
The Chilli Tortillas and Marsala Chicken are on the menu tomorrow and Sunday!
I've been plugging the recipes into MFP and they are almost spot on - it depends on the actual products used. The Special Cassoulet was 499 cals per portion when I logged it and they say 462.
You can get the recipes which were on the actual TV program on bbc website but there is loads more in the book.0 -
Their book has knocked 50 shades off the top spot and it's sold out on Amazon!!0

Books already out peeps - I can recommend it! I bought their book as soon as I heard about it - so far have tried bacon, poached egg and balsamic tomatoes for brekky. Cottage pie for dinner, and cajun spiced chicken and potato wedges. All YUM!
I love being able to have REAL food and not feel guilty. I've even adjusted some of their recipes so they're even better for me - using sweet potato and celeriac and leeky mash to top my cottage pie rather than normal potato.0 -

I thought it only had the recipes from the show on the site.0 -

It's sold out everywhere. A friend of mine has been trying to get it to no avail.0 -
I have the book and watched the shows and yes some great recipes however I would say 1200 calories is very low I understand that what they were doing.
I am sticking to around 1500 to 2000 calories a day which you can view on my diary0 -
we tried the skinny lasagne the day after they showed it on TV - it was fab!!! I have been getting their recipe's off the internet but will definitely be interested in the book too ;p)0
-
I haven't seen the programme but I bought the book as it was half price in Asda. I usually stay clear of diet cook books as they are full of salads and drab food but was pleasantly surprised when I looked through The Hairy dieters book. My friend raved about their pie. Will be trying out some of the recipes soon )0

Got the book and cooking loads from it !
The only down side from the show was that the lads wnet down to 1200 cals per day (bloody low but what do i know) but the lads then started doing bike rides and working out etc.
I wish that the show made it more clear if they were eating more because of the workouts.
Its the old "do i eat back my work out cals" question I know, but the show should of made it more clear.0 -

Great! Thankyou for sharing, I think I want to give them all a go!0 -
Folks, a good number of WHSmiths still have it, so if you really want it (and I can recommend it! It's brill!) then maybe ring your local store and check they have a copy before you head down!

Hmm sorry to be the cynic/party pooper... I enjoyed the shows and the recipes are doubtlessly delicious but they made it all seem a bit too easy.
For two BIG blokes to drop from 3500+ to 1200 calories must have been difficult and required some very careful and difficult food choices...fair play to them but that wasn't reflected in the programmes. It was all like "look how easy it is! You can still eat real food!".
I agree you can. BUT, I would like to have seen how (in addition to 'spending' 500-600 cal on dinner) they kept to 600 for the rest of the day - including breakfast, lunch, drinks, snacks. Now that's what people really want/need to see.0 -
I bought the book however I'll still be tweaking their recipes.
If you use silicon cake bases for their skinny lemon cupcakes you can lower the fat content by using less sunflower oil and save on extra calories.0 -
It's only £7.99 on amazon for the kindle x0

Why would you want in on Kindle? It's a cook book. You should always have cook books in real book form I'd think... But hey, that's your choice0 -
^ in comment to above I think all books are better in proper form, Im a reall booky and dont get kindles, theres nothing better than holding an actual book - haha I probably sound nuts but its true!
As for the show, what can I say - amazing! Watched and recorded all episodes was gutted it was such a short broadcast especially when other cookery shows seem to last forever and then they repeat the same Jamie Oliver stuff 100000 times over! I went to by the book this week thinking "great its only ended theres bound to be loads in stock" and and shocked when the guy told me not only are they sold out amongst all other shops but they have had to go to reprint! but great for them, that can only mean theyve inspired alot of people to think about food choices!
Im attempting the lasagne tomorrow night (I always have lasagne on a cheat night) but not sure about the idea of leek instead of pasta - whats peoples thoughts? Especially with it being my all time fav meal I dont want to miss out on my one cheat day, plus I usually cook with wheat pasta so not all bad if leeks are a no go.
Cant wait to get the book and try other recipes!! I think theyve saved me from eating the same old boring chicken day in day out!0
