Any advice? My diary is open and is very honest.
I exercise - cardio every day, strength 2x a week, yoga 3 times a week. I'm pretty good at keeping steady calories in.
Just frustrated that I have my monthly weigh in tomorrow and I was 3 pounds lighter last week.
Argh...
Would love any advice, observations anyone wants to give.
also, anyway to lose three pounds,,,,today?

probably just water, I was up 3 lbs with nothing different but it's back on the way down now. Just increase water intake and keep doing what your doing. If you notice that next week your still going up then you need to change things up some. Change your calorie intake and the food you eat and your exercise. Consistant is not always good and I think only works for a time before your body needs an adjustment.0

That happened to me a couple of months ago - it didn't go overnight, although that's how it arrived. I just had to lose it over again. Sucks, but there it is. I've lost it again, plus more. Keep on keeping on!0

I'm 46, i see you are 50, here are some things that have been working for me now that i'm older.
Get your carbs down, you are eating over 200 a day, get them down to 150 and then to 100-125 a day. Get your protein levels higher, aim for 100-120 grams a day and get more healthy fats. Can't see your sugar levels but keep them as low as possible. For instance, fruit yogurt is usually very high in sugar and carbs, trade it out as a snack for a 1/4 cup of almonds.
And take 1000 mg of Vitamin D3 every day.0 -
It's probably just water weight! I can see up to a 5lb difference in 2 days :grumble: Just drink lots of water to keep thing flushed out and watch sodium intake. I agree with the poster who said if it continues to go up, change some things around like foods/cals/exercise. Otherwise, you probably just ate more sodium than usual and it will go away!0

So frustrating....I know. 2 weeks ago I gained 5 pounds in one day! Took me 2 weeks to lose that water weight....and I do drink a lot of water.0

Could it be water weight? My stomach obviously swells up before my period. It actually sticks out a lot! This might be due to drinking a few cans out diet cola around the time, which doesn't help me.
Otherwise your muscles are retaining water to repair themselves from the exercise you've been doing.0 -
As others have already said - it's almost assuredly water.
Put it this way: a pound is roughly 3500 calories. That's why at a 500 calorie deficit, you lose roughly a pond a week:
500 + 7 = 3500.
So unless you somehow ate an extra 3 x 3500 = 10,500 calories - then it's just water weight.
Drink more water. Pee lots.0 -
A quick scan of your diary makes me think you are really up on sodium lately (certainly Panera and ihop are both going to be sodium-laden meals - the panera soup is probably half of my sodium intake for a week now that I'm watching it). Drink more water and watch the amount of sodium you use;)0

I checked on the "view printable reports" link and you're usually good on the sodium, but three days this week, it's been a little higher. That's enough to add a few pounds on the scale, but it's just temporary water weight, not fat gain.0

Nah, I don't eat 10,500 in a week!
Water...drinking it now....LOTS ... guess it sucks that I'm a teacher and have kids all day huh?0 -

Don't drink too much water though because that's bad for your electrolytes and can be pretty dangerous. The eight glasses a day RDA is around the safe amount.0 -

YES! lol. I used to be able to eat low-fat for a week and drop 5 lbs, now i need to eat low-carb high fat to drop 5 lbs in 6 months, crazy0 -
Any chance the water flushes out and takes some fat with it?
Wish there was a way to arrange that!0 -

It's probably water weight... drink a ton of water and you'll be fine.
You'd have to drink A LOT of water in a very short time for it to be dangerous for you.
Depending on your size and activity level and where you live you may need more than 8 glasses a day.0 -
....and it's gone...
the body is so odd sometimes.
