What does bump mean?

Hey!

I'm fairly new to this site...couple weeks, and I've been seeing 'Bump' everywhere and I'm not sure what is means! Anybody?

  You "bump" a post/topic up because there are so many , it instantly goes to page 2-3 etc and no one sees it
