Healthy desserts?

Anyone have any healthy dessert ideas? I tried googling it but it was coming up with healthy versions of regular desserts, when I'm looking for something like a fruit salad or other REAL clean foods.. Like for example I think homemade granola and fruit with yogurt can be considered a dessert. I need ideas like this!
Anyone?

You can check out the Clean Eating magazine webpage. They have quiet a few recipes. I've made a few, some of the stuff is good, other stuff not so much.

well mine isn't fruit by no means, although i do love fruit a lot. BUT what my boyfriend and i do is get a graham cracker (just one and we get the low fat) and put a VERY thin slice of cool whip (not TERRIBLE for you) and put it in the freezer for a few hours and then when you get it out it tastes delicious :). it's around 100 calories, I think a tiny bit more :).

A chocolate banana shake is my personal favorite.

Cut a banana into chunks & freeze it. Pop it in a blender with a cup of soy milk and 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder. Amazing dessert you don't need to feel bad about! Also really easy to add protein powder, if you're into that sort of thing.

not necessarily healthy, but I will eat a square of really, really good dark chocolate, an ounce of really good cheese, each of which is in the 100-120 calorie range

Healthier - Yogurt with some fruit, nuts, Home made fruit pops...

    healthy dessert = oxymoron.

here's some ideas: instead of ice cream, eat ice.
Instead of strawberry shortcake, just strawberries.
instead of bananas foster, just bananas.
instead of fruit salad, just salad.
  • The yogurt/fruit/granola one is good, I also enjoy that one. I have also taken mixed fruit, put it in a food processor and along with some almond milk (or coconut milk) and then put it in the freezer while I eat dinner. When dinner if over, it is nice and cold and becomes my version of ice cream! You can sprinkle raw chocolate on the top or honey or just eat it as-is. YUM!

I have also been making desserts from the website ChocolateCoveredKatie, she takes regular desserts and recreates them using healthy ingredients like chickpeas and figs/dates for "dough" and "sugar", so they are not only good, but super good for you!

I might have read your post wrong but I'm taking it you want healthy sweet snacks??

Trail mix, homemade granola bars, greek honey yogurt with fruit (cantaloupe and watermelon blended into the yogurt is scrumptious), grapes with laughing cow cheese wedge, fruit paired with cheese, apples sliced or quartered with a tad of melted butter (could subsitute maple syrup or honey) sprinkled with cinnamon and microwaved (tastes like apple pie) sprinkled with granola, smoothies, nutella (watch the amount) and peanut butter sandwich, chocolate pudding with some nuts and/or fruit

Not sure if this answered your q but hope it helps

I like cocoa or cinnamon roast almonds. Filling and low sugar, but still enough to satisfy a sweet tooth.

Alternatively, many fruits can be grilled and then drizzled with a little maple syrup, honey or molasses for a "clean" and sweet dessert. Peaches and pineapple are especially good on the grill.
  • Yoghurt, berries, ice. (mix in blender so it makes a sort of sorbet) and sprinkle with berries and walnuts.

Basically I'm looking for a desert to bring to my mom's house this weekend. So, it has to be a bit more than just "a banana, or a strawberry" as a previous poster suggested. I don't really want to use cool /whip, because I am eating clean and cool whip has a huge list of unpronouncable ingredients.

    Thanks for everyone's suggestions :)

    My Go-To's:

Warm: Apple slices with Cinnamon sprinkled on them, heat it up and it tastes like apple pie :)
Cold: Frozen grapes- always a winner instead of icecream

And of course, extra dark, organic chocolate (just a bite!)

Since you're bringing this to your mom's house as a formal dessert, put the apple slices in a beautiful way in a pie dish, the same way you'd put them in a real pie. Then just add cinnamon sprinkled and you can even crush up some walnuts and sprinkle them around. It'll look gorgeous and be totally clean :)

If you have any decorative glasses you could sweeten greek yogurt with a little pure maple syrup or honey and layer with fresh fruit for healthy parfaits.

Emerald Nuts has some good combos, I love the Cinnamon Sugar dusted ones. Sliced strawberries with a little sugar or sweetener sprinkled on top. A square of some really dark chocolate. Skinny cow; love their ice cream and candy. But the ultimate for a chocolate lover...NO PUDGE BROWNIES! Those things are my crack.

Oh, also if you're looking for something to bring Fruit Pizza is always one of my favorites. Not the healthiest you could do but better than the normal "dessert" you see at gatherings. And it's pretty! Here's a good recipe, I like using Strawberries, blueberries, and kiwi on mine....
