What day...

What day do you log your food if you eat past midnight? I have insomnia so I haven't been sleeping until 4 or 5 am so I usually have a snack around 12 or 1am. Should I log it for today or the next day?

I would log past 12 as the next day whether you have slept or not. Its a simple place to draw the line.0

I'm a night owl and if I have not gone to bed yet, its still "today" not "tomorrow" no matter what time it is.
Otherwise I'll wake up and be like...when the heck did I eat that?0 -
Having worked days and nights, the answer is "whatever works for you".
If you routinely are up past midnight, then sleep time as the line between dinner and breakfast is fine.
For someone who goes from sleeping days to sleeping nights, then I would use midnight as the dividing line so the cals per day lines up across daytime days and nighttime days.0 -
personally I use whenever I sleep as the cutoff, but whatever makes it most likely that you'll actually do it is fine. The calories have to go somewhere. I also read somewhere that it's usually fine to go over one day and make it up the next if you need to, if that helps.0
