Going past the goal, but for a good reason

Sometime in the next day or two, I will reach a goal that was once unthinkable, but eventually became the "ultimate goal".

I will be under 200 pounds for the first time since my early-twenties. On Thursday morning, I weighed in at 200.4 pounds, and I had a great day with diet and a 5K. If I don't cross the finish line Friday morning, I will on Saturday.

When I started, I was 266 pounds, and I set my first goal at losing 25 pounds. A good friend told me to just go for the under-200 goal, but I just laughed at the suggestion. She was right, and tomorrow, I'll apologize for doubting it.

So I never thought this would be possible, but I have decided that I am going to shoot for 185-190 pounds. There's a good reason for it though.

In two months, I am going to go to Mexico to see my cousin get married on the beach. It's at an all-inclusive resort, and I want to be able to LIVE IT UP. I want to take off extra weight just so I can put a few pounds back on while I'm down there.

Now, if I can just find somebody to bring to Cancun with me......

Thanks, everyone....your support has been awesome through this journey. I appreciate it.

Jeff

Good work man. I am also shooting for under 200 (started at 289). I haven't had a weight that started with a one since I was in junior high. Reading stuff like this makes me believe that I can do it. Thanks and congratulations!
  • WOW! AWESOME JOB!

Your situation sounds just like mine. I weighed 262 on 8/8 and I'm now down to 244. I want to be at 199 by Christmas. That is my ultimate goal! I have 44 to lose in four months. I have cut out all junk food and pop. Your pics look awesome! What a change. You have got to feel so much better!

Have an AWESOME trip! I'm jealous...I  the beach. I got to go last month, but feel I need it again. Dip your toes in the sand for me.

Thanks to EVERYONE....but I wanted to address something in your comment.

Cutting out the pop was crucial. I used to drink it a LOT. I only do water now (and Crystal Light Peach Iced Tea - 5 calories per 8 ounces). I don;t even drink the diet stuff. It was my biggest move in getting rid of the major vices.
