I've been on MFP for nearly a year and a half now and I've lost just over 20 pounds!! Such a HUGE LOSS!!
OK, so not really huge, and I still need to lose 30ish more. But I see these posts all the time about "90 lbs lost in 6 months", etc, and I just felt left out. SLOW losses here, people! <woohoo...ooo...oo...oh forget it>

I get it. I am not dropping as fast as others either. But the way I look at it is had I not been on MFP I probably owuld have gained weight. So any weight loss is a good one and I try to tell myself slower is more sustainable. Maybe that is an excuse, but if it is going to be a way of life now and in the future, what's the rush. We'll both get there.0

That's fantastic..congrats! A loss is a loss..and losing weight that quickly usually happens with obese people or really low calorie deficits. I'm right there with you..I'm almost at the 20 mark and I have been at this for a year. Be proud of yourself for hitting a milestone..be it whatever amount of loss.0

I think it's better to see post like this! I don't care for the "I lost a billion pounds overnight" threads. Congrats at losing in a practical, and safe pace :flowerforyou:0

I'm an impossibly slow loser too so I empathise with you. However, what I really took from your title was the '20 pound lost'. Read it yourself. 20 pounds. That's a lot of weight, isn't it? Forget about the time it's taken. It's still 20 whole pounds. WELL DONE! And just remember that were you not watching what you were eating you may well have put 20 pounds on then you would be a whole 40 pounds heavier than you are today......Does that make you feel better? I hope so. Keep going xxx :flowerforyou:0

I agree! Any loss is better then any gain! making healthy lifestyle changes are what's important in the long run anyways keep up the good work!0

I'm in the same boat....oh well...I'll take whatever loss I can get, and if it takes longer, it's ok! This is a permanent change!!0

Yep, I'm a slow loser, too. I lost about 20 pounds at the beginning of this year simply by walking about (hours and hours each day), but have only managed to lose 1 kg (2.2 pounds!) in the past THREE months. There are days where I feel like I'm gaining, even though I know that can't be possible with the deficit I'm sustaining. I've also lost a few inches, but not many.0
