Feeling Discouraged :(

So my husband and I are doing this weight loss together and of course he has a lot less to lose than I do. We have completely changed the way we are eating with cutting out ALL fast food and soda, working out, eating healthier and just making better choices. We took away one meal a day and replaced it with a homemade fruit protein smoothie. We have been taking some other supplements that are supposed to boost your metabolism and help to burn fat. We only started this change last Saturday so almost a week. My husband has lost 6 pounds and Im not seeing any results as far as weight loss. I don't know what I am doing wrong.
I have been working my butt off on my treadmill and using my exercise ball to do other parts of my body and im eating so much better. I know it has only been a week but what gives?? :ohwell:

It's only been a week so don't get discouraged yet. My advice is to skip the metabolism boosting supplements and just try to eat a healthy balanced diet and get some exercise. I can't see your diary so I don't know how much you eat but you also can eat too little so make sure you eat enough.0

First it is a marathon, not a race
Second do not compare you to anyone else.
3rd....drop all the pills and fat burner....the only thing it will burn is you money
4th....patience. I have been doing this almost 2 years.......one week is nothing.0 -
Patience. It takes time.0

Guys always lose weight faster. I reccomend drinking 10-14 glasses of water per day, that should kick start ya!! And...you might be transforming fat into muscle which is heavier. Dont look at your scale for a week. Go by how you feel. Hang in there!!0

Yes men tend to lose weight faster, especially at 1st so you can't compare yourself to your husband. Not to burst anyone's bubble, yes over time you can gain muscle if you strength training but that will not happen in a week. Muscle takes time to build.0 -
Im trying to be patient, I really am but knowing that he steps on the scale everyday and sees a drop makes me want to do it as well lol
And just to clarify, Im not taking diet pills only vitamins.
I only take 7-Keto which is awesome and African Mango Extract (We thought we would give it a try) and I take a colon care vitamin. That's it.0 -
You may just need to do something different than your husband does. Drop the pills unless it vitamins, spend the money on fresh fruits and veggies, drop processed foods and drink water. Exercise to burn some calories. It will work just keep at it0

First of all it is the nature of the beast. Men do lose faster because nature wants women so that they can bear children and that is one reason our BMI is higher. Even if you don't want to bear children! As was said, keep at it. It is a marathon. Men have shorter attention spans than we do! LOL0

I know it can be frustrating, really. I see that happen with my husband too but your bodies are completely different so you will not lose weight the same.
Keto and African Mango smells of Dr Oz. That probably won't harm you but don't expect it to help either.
You have to be patient or you will make yourself crazy. A week is nothing, if you have no results in a few weeks then you may need to change up what you are doing.0 -
I know, it's only been a week. Im going to stop stressing over it and just do my thing and I know in time it will come off
Thanks everyone for the words of encouragement.0 -
The African Mango is from Dr. Oz but the 7-Keto was research because I have had a hysterectomy as well as asthma and went off all my prescription meds and it's supposed to help with all that stuff so I figured it was worth a try.0
