Hi - I used the same measurements in 3 different calculators

Fat 2 Fit = 28%
Covert Bailey = 33.3%
Military = 46.9%

they average at 36%

Does anyone have a better one they could recommend or comment which or these is most accurate?

  • For body fat, the best thing to do would be to pick one of the systems and just stick with it. Then you will know you lost, say 5% if it goes down.

    I have been using the Military one.

    I get it but it effect your goal weight at my age the say I should be 23%-35% body fat depending where you starts make a big difference

    I don't think any of the calculators are very accurate-can you get the calipers test at your gym? I have heard the Bod Pod does some fairly accurate testing but it is pricey.

    Without going for the dunk test, it's all relative anyways. As far as online calculators go though, I hear the Military one is decent.

    they are all terrible, there is really no way you could accurately give a BF% using an online test, far too many variables involved.

    Only reasonably accurate way outside of a DEXA scan is with manual calipers, even that can be a few % out.

    I didn't find one single calculator that gave me the same measurements that the doc calculated with using bioimpedance and DEXA.
    So....
    This was the most accurate for me but it was wrong for 5 % (less).
