Home workout needed, only dumbells.

Do to busy schedule and working on getting into a new gym I need a full body workout routine to help build lean muscle as I drop the last about 20lbs. My goal it do have a toned build, I forgot what calc I used but it said something like weight 189lbs but Loose ??fat gain ?? lean muscle. I need help planning an at home workout but I only have dumbbells (40lbs total [4] 2.5 lbs, [4] 7.5 lbs) I tend to do interval running outside for cardio, I basically alternate run/jog/walk and also walk up a very steep large hill while trying to maintain a high burn range using the HRM w/ chest strap. So i am looking for a variety of exercises to use to build muscle using only my body, dumbbells, or house hold items as resistance. I do also have a bmx style bicycle that I sometime will carry up the large steep hill....make the ride down a lot of fun at the same time lol. I also have a Wii Fit but have not used it much since it needs new batteries and I keep forgetting to buy some. Any tips would be great. You can also check out my Diet help request @ http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/726451-working-on-last-20ish-lbs-need-advice-on-low-fat-intake

Thanks for any help!

I know you stated that you only had dumbells, I got a set of resistant bands from Walmart. about $25-$30. That I have used on occasion. I know it doesn't sound like it does much but man does it. Great investment for the home gym.

Chalene Xtreme requires dumbells or resistance bands - and the results are awesome!

I do Chalean Xtreme, but the 30 Day Shred is also good and combines cardio and weights. They are both approximately 30 min workouts, but the Chalean Xtreme workouts want you to use heavy weights. You can do that relatively inexpensively with resistance bands, though.

I love poking around the women's health magazine website, seems kinda silly, but they have all sorts of great workouts. Full body, muscle specific, free weights, body weight, yoga, you name it. Its fun to have the variety and they seem to work pretty well.

Amazing weight loss, oh my gosh! Well, if you look up military workouts they tend to be based on bodyweight mostly, challenges like a circuit of 10 squats, 10 sit ups and 10 press ups done 10 times. Try some of these! http://www.military.com/fitness-center/military-fitness/workouts/archive

I think I may try this one, I don't see the point in buying work out tapes when there are so many free ways. I thank you for the link.

I attempted the 10lb slim down xtreme - total body workout, I think the mat would help...don't have one...lil rough on the planks...Also iI should have done lower weight for dumbells. I made it not even half way but still according to my hrm w' strap it was around 220 cal in about 13 min...so I believe I will get a mat and lower the weight and try again tomorrow.
