The best way to do this is to create a new recipe for the cupcakes. Put the number of the servings as 18, add the box mix as an ingredient (make sure to add it as dry ingredients, if MFP database doesn't have that you'll have to add it from the nutritional infromation on the box), then add the amount of applesauce and done
In your diary you add 1 serving of the recipe per cupcake you eat and you'll have all the information worked out for you.0 -
On your myfitnesspal app, add the whole thing as a new recipe: all the ingredients and everything. (or online, whichever diary is easier) It will ask the servings at the beginning when it's asks for the title of the recipe. That way once you've added all the ingredients it will tell you the calories and fat you've put in per cupcake!
Also, homie, if you're going to eat a cupcake, try a different dessert that it just as tasty to you! Baked goods can be super high in sugar! xoxo, just keepin ya on track. (And no worries, I totally snack on a dessert now and then.)0 -
One way I've always found to be super helpful to determine calorie counts for portions of a larger recipe is to use the "recipe" feature on this site. Simply put in the total amount of everything that goes into your recipe, and then indicate how many servings it produced. It calculates the calories for you.
You find this under the "Food" tab.0 -
That's true. I was doing the math. And if you use the receipt function you ave the nutrients as well as the calories.0

170x12=2040 This is the calorie count for just the mix
2040=45=2085 THis is the calorie count for the entire box plus the applesauce
2085/18= 115.3 This is the calorie count per cupcake that you made.
Final verdict:115 calories
Hope that helps!0 -
If the mix is 170 per 1/12--then the entire box by itself is 170*12=2040 calories
You added 45 calories worth of applesauce---making the mix 2040 + 45=2085 calories
2085 calories/18 cupcakes=115.8 or 116 calories per cupcake.0 -
Just do 170 X 12 (total calories in box PLUS the 45 calories THEN divide by 180
