  • I'm more worried about having to be around large amounts of people again and that I'll still look super fat and that I'll be awkward as usual with interactions and look people in the face and know they find me annoying.

Not to mention I'm afraid I might actually have attention problems and I'll go into classes not knowing anyone as usual and no one will want to sit near me just like it's always been my entire life.

Eggs and veggies in a wrap would cook up fast. So would a banana wrapped in a slice of bread with pb and jelly on it....

Seeing as I'm on here to gain I just make it my priority to get in my meals and snacks. Have you looked to see if your school has a dietician you could work with (usually free). Are you doing meal plan? Living in dorm? Need to know what you are working with food wise.

I usually do cereal and milk or grits and yogurt. Then I do with that english muffin half, pb, nuts, and prunes. Keeps me full and good.

Some of my friends who are trying to lose weight do oatmeal or get bagels/ english muffins they can carry with them.

I graduated this past May, but you might want to check and see if your school posts the food schedule/ nutrition info online. That was a really good way for me to plan what to eat and stick with it while I was eating dorm food. Another thing I did was schedule my lunch/ dinner as if it was a class, and usually snagged a piece of fruit from the dining hall to have in case I got hungry or something came up in between class.

Another thing I did was always had some Lean Cuisines or healthy snacks (granola bars, 100 calorie bags of popcorn) in my room in case I couldn't make it to the dining hall before it closed or I was up late studying and just needed something. Then you take away the temptation to hit the vending machine or hall store.

I totally can appreciate the stress and everything associated with a busy class schedule, but try a few things out, see what works with your schedule. Eventually I was able to get into a routine where I somewhat knew the times I would be hungry during the day, etc. Hang in there!
  • Work on eating smaller meals throughout the day. Each meal should be packed with protein. Good luck! My college years were the hardest.
  • I never eat breakfast in the dining hall, because their breakfast offerings are usually pretty processed, fatty, and nutiritonally void in general. I stick to simple stuff I can make easily in my room. Today it was oatmeal, and I just cut up a grapefruit and set out some greek yogurt to have for tomorrow. A little planning when you do your grocery shopping and just a few minutes the night before can go such a long way.
