I'm 18 in less than 30 days!!! YAY! I want to party hard ma friends, and with partying, comes party clothes! I want to wear a shorter dress that comes down to just above my knees and not have to wear leggings (Leggings are not party-ish), but I hate my knees and my thighs are big, so how what can I do to get quick, thinner thighs and cuter knees??? Remember, I have a month, so I think that widens the possibilities?

Congratulations, then you'll be old enough to sign up for an MFP account!

Don't stress about how you can change your body in a month - just get started with doing a bit of exercise and eating well and look out for an outfit that makes you feel great as you are now.

    That!
  • I know haha, I'm a little worried posting that will get me kicked off, but oh well. Haha. I dont expect to find anything that will changed my body drastically over night, I want some routine that others have tried and will at least change my look enough to make me feel comfortable at my party with out a jacket to hide my arms or leggings to hide my legs.
  • please, If you have anything to say about the fact that I will be 18 and old enough to sigh up for an account, keep it to yourself, and move along.

on one hand I agree that the rules are there for a reason and everyone should follow them, but on the other hand I wish I had something like this site when I was in my teens. Maybe I would have not be over 300lbs now being that I was 195 when I was 14 and 220 when I turned 18 :( So how can I say you being on here is wrong?

So to answer your question: Walk! Lots of cardio! Eat healthy and make sure you eat enough calories and nutrients! Work in some strength training even if its just some 2lb weights as you do cardio. If you cant do a "real" pushup then do a girlie on or even a wall pushup will help work on the arms. Dont expect changes over night! And whatever you do: DONT give up on yourself! AND remember that you are BEAUTIFUL and you shouldnt let anybody tell you different!

Good luck and have a very Happy Birthday!

Wall pushups or stair push ups for the arms! For legs, walk, do leg lifts (laying on your side and lift the top leg up 90 degrees and do some lifting the bottom leg as high as you can). Jumping jacks and Butt kicks (jogging in place but kicking your self in the butt, literally) 8-)

ETA: You could also try the 30 Day Shred video from Jillian Michaels, I just started that, 30 minutes a day (including the warm up and cool down) lots of people see nice results from it! You can get it at walmart for $10. I have been doing it for a week and I like it so far!
  • Have you tried Circuit Training? Im a Similar age to you (19 in a month) and fine that circuit training is fun to do and you can make it work on your legs, arms, *kitten* even your little finger i guess! :) If you wanted to try it skipping is always a good cardio, and the jumping will help tone your legs. However if you want something that isnt so full on and embarrassing you can always try zumba, now that really is fun and you can get certain discs off the internet to focus on tone and just pop them in a dvd player or lap top and off you go! assuming you live at home with parents, you can do it in your room and no one can watch, which for me is brilliant! I hope you feel fab on your birthday! Good luck!

    Rule breaking aside...

Try wall pushups and dumbbells. You can pick up some at Walmart fairly cheap and just google workouts with them. As for your legs, walk, do squats, some aerobics, etc. Hell jog on a treadmill few times a week and you'll see muscle improvement. Basically move, move, move. In the end you can't spot reduce but if you keep up with a routine and supply your body with lots of proteins you should see results.
