5'3'' Women.....what is your net calorie goal??

Hi ladies,

I am 39, 5'3'' and currently weigh 166-168lbs. My goal weight is 135-140 which puts me in a healthy BMI. My BMR is around 1400 cals.

I have been struggling to lose weight for a while now.....plateau. I workout 4-5 times per week doing cardio (running/jogging/walking) and strength training (body pump and kettlebells).

I've done a lot of research on mfp about what my calorie goal should be....1250-1500 on mfp to lose1/2 to 1lb per week. Fat2fit says 1650 (at sedentary), eat more to weigh less says 1700-1800. I have tried all of this and just cannot shift the lbs at all.

I just wondered if similar height/age ladies could give me some guidance on what works for them in terms of net calorie goals. I am doing Fat2fit at the moment.

p.s. on 1250 cals per day I am starving!!!

    Currently I am 135, size 4, but I'd like to be down to 130. MFP has me at 1240 calories.

    Mine is currently 1340 although I started from 1200.

    I'm just under 5'3 and started at 141 pounds, now 125 with another 5 pounds to lose.

    I know many say net of around 1200-1400 is low but I've lost this weight really slowly (started in April this year) and I know I eat a good range of healthy foods, so this works for me! I eat a mostly plant based diet and I think that helps because I can eat a lot without eating lots of calories!

    I'm eating 1550 a day, but with high protein and around 50-80g of carbs, it's totally worked for me as I'm losing steadily again.
    I was consuming levels of 1200 and 1400 for the last 14 months and horse riding but since I added weight training (proper) and changed my diet it's all coming together nicely again. :bigsmile:

    I'm 5'3, currently weigh 134 with a goal weight of 120. I eat up to 1743 calories per day and never net below my BMR of 1323. I'm losing about 1 lb. per week.
