Out of town VICTORY!!!

Hi everyone!

So this past Labor Day weekend I went out of town from Chicago to Detroit to catch a baseball game and visit a couple of places. My biggest fear heading into the trip was that since I would be away from home I would fall into my old eating habits and that I would go as far as to stop logging my food and gaining some weight...

However, I stood strong and said no to all of the high calorie unhealthy food (well most...I had to splurge a little bit.. I was on vacation after all!!) and thank goodness I found out that the gym I have a membership to had a location in the same parking lot as the hotel I was in!!

This morning I weighed myself after coming back from my vacation and I was glad to see that I actually lost a little bit of weight!!

Im writing this to show people that they can go on vacation and still continue their diet.

I also want to know:

Has anyone else been in a situation where they were dieting out of town? how did it affect you?

i went out of town for two weeks, Boston, Philly and DC. Totally blew the calories out the window (mostly with margaritas) hey on vacation :) but I logged in everyday, did a lot of historic walking tours and came back and not only didn't I gain weight but I was down 2 pounds. It can be done.

been losing weight and excercizing for about 8 weeks,
went from 247 to 200.0 the day we went to Cape Cod.

Weve been going to the Cape for years and seafood is part of the tradition.

I figured 'go for it and pay for it when I get back'.

To make a long story short, we had fried scallops (TWICE), french fries, pizza,
steak egg and cheese on a hard roll before our whale watch cruise and just anything we wanted.

I guess that the swimming, walking on the beach, hiking and just sight-seeing paid off because I
came home and actually weighed less than when we went.

Now, back to the grind, exercizing eating healthier, etc..

Awesome victory!!! Glad you found a gym near your hotel too!

I spent a little over a week in Colorado for my summer vacation, and I just learned to not stress...it's vacation after all :) The first coulple days I logged food, but then realized (through logging hiking) that we were burning over 1000 calories a day from hiking...so that helped me not stress so much about what I was eating while on vacation...and just making healthy choices like having a good chicken salad for a meal instead of a cheese burger or having wheat pancakes instead of buttermilk for breakfast, just little changes that helped me come back home to the scale being the same number as when I left :)
