One Month Max Progress

Hello MFP'ers, I am getting a one month gym membership tomorrow and I was looking for tips on how to maximize progress. I want to lose 8 pounds and about 5 1/2 inches, 4 on my waist, 1.5 off my hips (idk if that is possible but I did manage to put those 5 plus inches back on in less than a month ...)
My plan is to do cardio everyday, burning between 500-650 calories. I also plan on doing split strength training everyday (one day upper body including abs, next day lower body.) but with a break once a week. I will be netting between 1000-1200 calories of healthy foods (hopefully  ) and of course; drinking copious amounts of water.
What are the best exercises for optimal results?
What have you had best progress with?
If anyone has any one month results I'd be very interested to see them!
Thank you!

I think the current wisdom is that you don't get to pick where the weight comes from. So while it's possible to lose 8 pounds in a month it may not net you the measurements you want. My maximum progress peaked at a pound every 3 days. So I've lost 10 pounds in a month before, but everyone is different. It's easier to drop 5% of your body weight (like I did) than it would be to lose 10%, for example.
Also, more is sometimes less. 1000 net calories isn't much food. You say what you want to lose and how much you want to eat but don't say what your BMR is. That is, what SHOULD you be netting, per MFP, to lose 2 lbs/week? That's the magic number. You also may wear yourself out doing an hour of cardio every day for a month. Rest days are very important. I don't want to be a wet blanket. Do whatever makes you happy. Just remember that the progress you make due to a lasting lifestyle change will be with you a lot longer than progress during "crash" months.0 -
Thank you for the advice! I am going to be taking it as it goes, so of I feel like I need a rest day and/or more food I will comply . By the way, I am about 5'7" and 130 lbs, I have a small frame so 130 doesn't look good on me AT ALL haha0
