Kenpo X or Tae Bo? Your opinions.
GO!
neither of those are real fighting...
for general on the street fighting, its hard to beat Krav Maga.... augmented closely by good weapon training, mostly handguns in the US.
beyond that, theres sport fighting that transfers over... you have your general MMA and BJJ combo, Kickboxing, muay thai, etc ...
behind that your usual point sport fighting Gi BJJ, Karati, etc...
but really, sport is sport, and not street fighting.. you want to win, you fight dirty.. you want to train to fight dirty and win, you train Krav Maga.
Just started a Krav Maga course. Holy hell, it's dangerous just to learn it. Guy got his thumb broken during the first session. But, man is it awesome.0 -
*cough* Guns are for sissies. *cough*
This made me chuckle...nice ink, by the way :flowerforyou:0 -
Anyone done any Urban Combatives in the Uk by a guy called Lee Morrisson?
Short, sharp and to the point...0 -
Richard Simmons "Sweatin to the oldies"0

LOL this is a great thread. In my humble experience not getting in to one is the only real win. That being said a god old KO is great then a good choke.0

Rex Kwon Do FTW!0

I agree.
And, I would add in Systema & Jeet Kune Do as "true" no holds barred fighting styles.
The original suggestions seem to be more exercise related than self defense oriented.0 -
Rex Kwon Do FTW!

Well played sir!0 -
I'm a lover, not a fighter.0

Ninjutsu if you want to be really cool.
Capoeira if you like to dance.
Krav Maga if you want to win.
Smith and Wesson if you want to win and not get punched in the first place.
Avoidance if at ALL possible.
Chuck Norris if you'd rather just stay home and "have it handled"
The Police (aka Po Po) if you want to report who beat you up and that you would very much like a ride to the hospital
“If you ever find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.”

I pictured it going down much like west side story ( if it were to ever happen)0

Aren't you a little old to be randomly getting into street fights?
I don't go looking for them, but you know....s***t just happens sometimes.0 -
Rasengan. Buhhhlieve it!
You win so damn hard. Except -1 for saying "Believe it" instead of "Dattebayo!" :-P0 -

I guess man. But I can honestly say that in my entire adult life that "s***t" has never just happened for no reason. It's all about if you put yourself in an environment where it can happen.
Though, yes, sometimes things DO happen regardless.0 -

street fights are fun...you should try it sometime.0 -

Im reminded of that scene in 'Fight Club' where that days 'homework' is to try and start a fistfight with a total stranger.... and some people find it incredibly hard to do.0
