Has this happened to you and if so what was the answer? Over ten years ago I started developing bouts of severe debilitating fatigue, body aches, eating everything in sight, upset stomach, and WARNING TMI my cycle would become a blackish brown and be caustic to my skin irritating it. The way this affected my body caused me much anxiety because I could not seem to get relief and couldn’t function. I would also have my period for sometimes as long as 2 weeks and sometimes twice a month. I was told birth control or pregnancy would help. Over the years I have been tested for PCOD, endometriosis, thyroid, cortisol etc .conditions nothing materializing. 3 years ago I did get pregnant and even though I lost the baby the symptoms went away, until recently. I don’t think I can handle going through this all over again without an answer. But here I am on my second cycle of in less than 20 days. And it has returned to the dark brownish black, I am exhausted, I can’t seem to get control of my eating, and I ache all over. It’s a different kind of issue from pain. It’s a aching that makes it so you can’t rest or get comfortable.
Has anyone else experienced something like this. Please tell if you did and was there and answer. I am going to ask my dr. to test my thyroid again. But I can’t bare the idea of coming up with inconclusive information again.

sometimes i have pain but it's not unusual for me since it's there even when my cycle isn't .... side note: i went to check it out once because at one point it was more than i could take and turned out i managed to fracture my pelvis - WTH!!!!.... anyway whenever i have the dark colored menstrual, it comes with sharp pangs in my nether region, my mom once told me (TMI) that it was bruised blood and i noticed that when i got close to my cycle if i was overly fatigued and i continued to push myself, i'd get the dark brown flow.... also, if i continued to push well after my end date then it would start again0

How did they test you for endometriosis? I had a doctor for a few years who kept telling me that wasn't what my back pain and pain during "evening activities" was.
I finally saw a new doctor based on a recommendation from a trusted friend.
This doctor asked me how the former doctor knew it wasn't endo..."did he put a camera inside of you?"
When I said no, she suggested we do an exploratory something-oscopy. So we did. The camera goes thru your navel.
Come to find out I DO have endometriosis. She removed what she saw, but basically it will continue to come back and I just have to "watch" for symptoms.
Now I'm on a new BC and it's really helping. I would advise you to get a second opinion. I wish I had done so sooner0 -
First, I'm sorry you lost a baby and that you've had to go through all of this!
Second, if your current doctor can't figure out what is wrong, I think you need to find someone new. Maybe even a team of doctors. Other than that, I don't really have anything to say that can help.
Good luck.0 -
I get the aching, it's like it goes down to your bones. That is animia(sp?) you need iron, I also get cramps that are actually worse then labor pains....I have spent 15 hrs in labor twice before I got an epidurial, I would rather do that. My cycle are also short and soemtimes very in length. The dark blood is old blood, generally it looks brownish in color - I would get a second opinion, something is there that is for sure. Also from what I understand pregnancy will fix the problem short term but once your hormons balance again things will start back up - BC works bc it keeps your hormons in line.
So sorry about the baby, that is not somethign anyone shouldhave to deal with.0 -
 Thanks ladies.. My new dr. tried to do a biopsy but my cervix is so tight she barely got a sample last time. My cervix also couldn't be dialated with the rods when I had to have my DNC. I will ask about the camera? Shelly that sounds like me pushing myself to hard through the exhaustion. You know about my bulging disc and I am trying to just work like it isn't issue because it was made clear that is an issue as far as my work perfomance is considered. So maybe it is more stress related. Anyway, I will ask my Dr. today. Thanks for all the input. I's wierd because my cramps are horrific and I also an feel waves of hormones. Plus wel lets say the DD area bursting DDD right now. So wish I was pregnant but since I haven't had sex since April that is nt the problem.0

Wow - I am so sorry you are having to go through this. Some of the issues might be enema, low iron, which someone else mentioned. Make sure you are not taking your Iron Supplements with Calcium, take them with Vitamin C. But I would for sure find a new doctor if this one isn't helpful.
I've played at some of these issues, like i bleed for a month or more (it became kind of a blur) until I was actually bleeding to death. I ended up getting a DNC, which fixed me right up. But I still get really bad cramps, very achy & bleed a lot for about 2 days, then 3-4 days tolerable bleeding in my 24-26 day cycle. This was right after a breast cancer scare.
Anyway, I hope you get some answers soon! Nothing like lady troubles to make you feel defective. Hang in there!!! :flowerforyou:0 -

It's called a laporoscopy. You will need to be home for a few days probably after. The surgery wasn't so bad, it was the healing.0 -
were you able to talk to your doctor?0
