Hey ladies!! ( Sorry guys, I'm not sure you want to be reading this! But hey, more power to ya if you do!)

I am the type of girl who doesn't get cramps or sick in any way when it comes to getting her period. I will admit, I do get moody though.

Lately, like my last two periods, my cramps have been SO horrible. So bad I could only lay there in hopes they would calm down. My moods are pretty much the same, but my appetite has increased as well. Just during my period.

Is this because I have lost weight? Did you notice a difference in your cycle? Suggestions?!

Thanks <3

I does happen. My cycle got lighter, but my friend who lost weight with me had the same experience you did. She hates it! But the Dr. checked her out and said that hormones are bound to fluctuate with weight loss
  • I reacted differently. I used to get really horrible cramping and heavy heavy flow. This time around.. my flow was different. a bit heavy but less heavier than usual. Cramps were almost not there at all.
My problem was the fatigue and cravings! idk how to handle those!
but yes i looked it up online.. because i didnt know how to handle being on my period and being on a diet and exercising along with it, and it was because of the hormonal changes that come along with weight loss.

Mine are more often - every three weeks!! And I'm so moody that I can't stand to be around me! I keep telling myself the end result is worth the suffering, but right now all I can think is: "WHERE'S THE CHOCOLATE????"

I have mirena and until I lost weight, I had no period. Then, for the past two months moderate and 5 days!!! Crazy. However, I still do not cramp and I am not very moody with them. Yay! I hate periods because they are so darn messy. It was bliss when I didn't have them, but I am thinking maybe I was too big? Lol. I dunno.

Oh yes, us women deal with all kinds of crazy issues in regards to hormones. Losing weight or gaining weight affects your hormone levels which is likely the cause of the change in your cycle and symptoms. If it persists, I would recommend seeing an Endocrinologist to have some labs done to make sure everything is normal. Give it another couple cycles before doing so though as I imagine your body will regulate itself again.

I definetly believe there is a connection between our periods "behaviour" ( LOL  ) and weightloss.

I used to get awfull period pain since i started my period and right before beginning my weightloss journey.. Slowly but surely the pain disappeared as if by magic. I statted dieting a year ago.I did not put 2 and 2 together at first but after 4-5 months i realised it was happenig. There was even a time when my period was late for 2 months which had never happened before. I thought the weightloss might have messed things around. But now my periods are regular and i do get emotional, hungrier, spots and headace but no cramps at all which is really nice! :D
