I got home about 12:30 last night (Not super late, but late for ME these days)......and went to sleep around 1. I am up now (It's 6:53 EST) because I want to hit the gym soon and have time to come home and shower, etc before I have to leave for work around 9. I am trying to wake up with coffee...but I NEED my cardio and weights. It's like I feel disgusting if I can't go.
Addiction or dedication??
Thanks!

UMMMM.......isn't there a third choice....like CRAZY???!!! LOL....just kidding....you're dedicated....0

Might be a bit nuts!! I am back from working out, showered, eating my Fiber One Raisin Bran Clusters...and leaving in a few to head to work.
Yes, I feel my old 33 year old body is tired from my dedication......but if I don't do it..who will???? hehe0 -
I can think of worse things to be addicted to.....:noway:0

woot woot!!! I think you're a smart cookie!!! lol

I know how you feel. After 8 months of dedicated exercising I now feel very strange if I miss a day.
Getting ready to go out now for a short 2 mile jog ( its only 8:15 and already really hot here!)0 -
the way ive been explaining myself to folks who say that im 'taking this too seriously' or that i shouldnt be so 'obsessive' over it... is that a healthy obsession for a little while is ok if it leads to a healthier lifestyle for the future. it'd be a whole other thing if my obsession was kicking puppies, or trying to jump a moped over a pool until i succeeded. Either way, its ok, because you are bettering yourself, and I call it SELF CONTROL instead of addiction. lol
i feel grody when i dont work out also0 -
I think it's become a HABIT....a Great one at That!
I feel yucky too if I missed going to the gym that I'll pull out an excercise DVD or get on the stationary bike to try and make up for it. I figure it's something.....and I hate going to bed MAD!0 -
There are worse things you could be addicted to. Hey, better than being a cocaine addict is what I always say about my addiction to biting my nails.0

or trying to jump a moped over a pool until i succeeded.
Oh...uhm...is that....uhm...is that frowned on?
*considers a new hobby....*0 -
If you have to be addicted to something, I would say that excersizing would be a good thing!! haha.. I would think that your body is getting used to the endorphines that excerisize realises and when you don't do it, it is missing them. It's definitely good motivation to keep you going!0

I don't know which, at least if it's an addiction, it's a healthy one (if there is such a thing). But I know I get royally po'd if I miss a day, which is probably why I was so down on myself last week. I need to learn to relax a bit!!0

I know what you mean. Since I signed up for MFP I hate to miss a day of exercise, mainly because then I have so few calories to eat. Even on my days off from going to the gym, I walk to work and take my dog for a walk just so I can earn a few more calories.0

Its dedication addiction is when you would work out after eating a piece of lettuce or something. I do that often I make sure I am in bed with ample sleep time so I can wake up and work out(unless I have a 6:30 work start)0
