Push yourself. But not beyond your limits. Keep repeating weeks or days until you can do them to your satisfaction, and then move to the next week. It took me 13 weeks to complete the 8 week program, and then another 2 weeks or so before I could actually run the full 5K.

If pushing yourself doesn't work, start at 15 minutes and work up to the plan. A plan is only a guideline, after all. You are free to modify to fit where you are and what you need. Be encouraged - you'll get there!
  • My biggest problem today was i had a knee injury in March, and this was the first real workout i've done since then. I started off really bad, but got a bit better until i could tell it had enough.

I had a really bad ankle injury last September. Unfortunately, not even surgery will completely fix the damage I've done. It took me almost a full year to start back at a workout routine. (The doctor has given me permission to start my workouts again) That all being said, I am now on week 5 of the c25k program. I agree to push yourself a little harder but not beyond your limits. If it takes you longer than 8 weeks to do it, then it takes you longer than 8 weeks. Just don't give up yet! Please believe me when I say that if I can do it, so can you. Maybe when you feel that you can't go any longer, just continue to walk it, even at a slower speed. Get your body and your legs back used to the walking motion again. Keep at it, you can do this!
  • Thanks guys, i'm going to continue because even though i'm stiff a bit i feel like i did something good already. I think untill i'm fit enough to make it all the way i might do this everyday, then truely work on the program.

Just do as much as you canon workout one and repeat it until you can do the whole thing. Then move on. If you're working through an injury, it's going to take time to heal. Still, 8 weeks is a guideline and there's no reason why you can't take longer.

Don't give up! So day 1 you made 15 minutes, that's better than sitting on the couch *thinking* about trying it. Try again. And again. And again.

    :flowerforyou: You can do it!
