Limited to what exercise I can do.

So I had an injury back in Dec 09 where I fell down the stairs and broke my sacrum. I have been doing the elliptical which does not seem to upset my injury. But I started doing Walk away the pounds and I started being in extreme pain. I ended up in the ER and went to the Dr they both think it could be from the new exercise. So now im paranoid of starting anything new. You would think walk away the pounds was as easy and safe as they come.

What kind of exercises do you do besides the elliptical and regular walking (which does not seem to bother it either). But you get so bored doing the same thing.

I sometimes do the circuit machines at the gym. Are those any good? Which ones do you use and how often, and how many sets?

Thanks for any help!

If you have access to a pool, I suggest swimming or walking in the water. Both are great exercise and the walking os much lower impact that walking on land.

Did your doctor ever refer you to a physical therapist? I honestly thing that would be your best bet.

    Other options:
    water aerobics/swimming
    Yoga
Weight training (start slow but I really think a physical therapist would be your first step here)

I had a similar issue with my sacrum (not sure if it was broke or badly bruised but it took over a year to heal) and yoga was actually what helped me become pain free.

I do not have access to a pool at this time.

Linanil, what kind of yoga? I have never looked into yogo and no nothing about it really. I know that there is the slow kind and then some I have seen are fast. Does anyone have a cd they like or youtube video of one they like?

Any beginner DVD would be a good intro. Gaiam has some good ones. I have a few that I use in my rotation. I've never used youtube to look for such things but a quick search did reveal some stuff so possibly do a search for beginner yoga on youtube.

The stuff I generally do is hold pose type stuff. Its not fast and can be modified based on your skill level.
