This is a product I found today, which I have not tried, but I am excited about. I got it from a Japanese grocery store, but I thought I would let everyone here know about it, especially for those of you who love your pasta! (:

I am excited to try this since it looks like a low-GI pasta alternative that is low calorie, low carb, even vegan. Can't complain about that 10% calcium either! That page has a link toward the bottom with some recipes, and each package has a little recipe on the back, but here is a Rachael Ray one I found:

  • This stuff is pretty amazing, use a low fat cheese or fat free cheese and it makes a great alternative pasta alfredo. Just make sure that you rise and dry it really well!
  • Wow, those look great! And it looks like they sell them at my local health food store, so I'll have to pick some up. Thanks for the post!
  • The flat ones look like tapeworms. Just sayin'...

You need to rinse them VERY VERY VERY well. They tend to have a somewhat fishy smell to them if you don't.
