Hi! I have DQ in my right wrist and have been through physical therapy to make it better. In my efforts to lose weight and tone, it appears a lot of the toning exercises rely heavily on moves like plank and push ups--both aggravate my wrist. I've found alternatives for pushups, but nothing yet for plank. Any ideas or suggestions? (I've done searches. Just hoping someone has suggestions.) i want to be fit without injuring myself further!

Thanks!

This would be a great question to ask the physical therapist who treated the DQ. Do you have access to a gym? The plank position works primarily your core muscles. You can do curl-ups on the floor, or on a therapy ball (don't even need the gym). The gym most likely has a back extension maching where you can strenghten the muscles along your back.

Also, can you do a low plank, supporting your body along your forearms? Does this aggrevate your wrist?

Thanks, otrlynn. I have asked and it was recommended that I avoid these for now. I've done low plank and had some irritation, but not as bad as regular plank.

    Thanks!
