Your workout playlist

I find that music is a great motivator, it keeps moving me through my workouts 'cause I constantly tell myself "just one more song" and then a really awesome one comes on and I want to go through that one too... over and over again.

So my playlist selection is pretty important to me. I like a little bit of everything too, so it isn't that hard to motivate me with music... I thought I'd share my cardio workout playlist with y'all - and thought it might be fun if you shared yours too...

Here's some tracks from my playlist - in no particular order.

At the moment, I'm listening to podcasts instead of music. I'm just easing back into running, and music makes me go too fast and burn out in a few minutes. Podcasts don't interfere with my pacing.

It's mainly NPR stuff like Wait Wait Don't Tell Me, Radiolab, Selected Shorts, Fresh Air, This American Life, etc.
  • Oaktown's 357 Juicy Gotcha Krazy. LMAO Don't judge me...until I can figure it out. http://youtu.be/5a8Zu8I8yT0

I found this mix, and I love it! I play it on my iPhone when I'm doing my cardio, or when I need to drown out the sound of Jillian Michaels' voice during the 30 Day Shred... http://8tracks.com/julietovaxo/shake-all-around-the-world-cardio

I need really upbeat songs to keep me going, especially for long runs and interval training. Not trying to promote or anything here but here's my playlist on 8tracks: http://8tracks.com/mllef/shut-up-and-sweat - lots of house music!

so just for the record I don't know why this feed is not bursting with great tunes and attracting non motivating beats. You work harder with fast paced, awesome cardio sounds bouncing off your brain. I am a HUGE music head and was really hoping to get some new music from this thread and so far I am extremely disappointed.

I'm a HUGE Trance fan so that consumes my playlist. Gareth Emery, Markus Schulz & Tiesto are a few of my favorites
  • Music is the key to my workout. If I don't have heavy bass, uptempo music in my ears, then I'm most definitely not getting a full workout. I'm a big fan of all dance music and certain dubstep songs as well for jogging. Here are some great tunes for warming up, cooling down and everything in the middle. Hope someone gets something's out of it. :)

Eyes - Kaskade feat. Mindy Gledhill
    I'm the One - Laid
Follow the River (Magician Remix) - Lykke Li
Gold Dust ( Flux Pavilion Remix) - DJ Fresh
Ladi Dadi (Tommy Trash Remix) - Steve Aoki feat. Wynter Gordon
    Innocence - Nero
We Own the Sky - M83
    You - Gold Panda
I Like Van Halen Because My Sister Says Their Cool - El Ten Eleven
    Shooting Stars - Bag Raiders
Lights (Bassnectar Remix) - Ellie Goulding
Animal (Punks Jump Up Remix) - Miike Snow
Something Good Can Work (The Twelves Remix) - Two Door Cinema Club
Number 1 (Alan Braxe & Fred Faulke Remix) - Goldfrapp

I would just like ONE feedback to say that the following song is a great motivator while doing cardio or just in the midst of a great workout!

Please try: Elvis Presley: "A Little Less Conversation"

I have it starting about 22 minutes into my elliptical cardio and it keeps me going for the next 6.5 minutes. Really listen to the words and use the tempo to ride it to the fullest

During the summer when I was on the trails, I almost felt like singing it out loud or just breaking out in a boxing move or just dancing along the trail.

Give it a listen and let us know what you think.
