Guilty NSV!?

Hi all,
I started my MFP journey a little over 220 lbs. Its been about 2.5 months of actually counting calories and working out 5 days a week without missing a day and have made it down to 197. I am training for the Warrior Dash at the end of this month, but will continue MFP until I am convinced I’m where I need to be.
I am far from done losing weight and already achieved a NSV that’s a little hard to accept. My wedding band is too big and now slips off my hand if it even gets slightly wet now. I feel like it is a part of my body and should always be since it stands for something so important and I don’t want to lose it. It is not resizable since it is a tungsten carbide ring. I don’t want to replace this ring because it is “the ring” from the ceremony. BUT at least it’s not fitting for a good reason!
Anyone else have this issue and kinda feel guilty about it?

That's great and sad at the same time. Go to a jeweler, they make bands that can go inside of rings to slim the size down. Then you can feel excited about your successes!0

I have the opposite. I started with my rings not fitting anymore and now they fit and are starting to get loose. I'm sure when they get that loose I'll either wear them on a necklace or get them resized.0

good to know thanks! I was hesitant to post but im glad i got some good advice.
I thought about the necklace method as well but am proud of my wife and son and i dont want to hide it under a shirt. My wife said she is just proud of me and it does'nt bother her, but her support makes me want to wear the ring even more!
Im gonna go to a jeweler and see about the insert suggested and take it from there
Thanks again!0 -
No, but the NSV I am hoping for me is that my wedding and engagement rings WILL fit again. I'm currently wearing my husband's on my hand and mine on a necklace.0

Mine spin like crazy and it bugs me...yet I am too scared to do anything about it because although I would like to say this weight loss is permanent...just taking one day at a time =-)0

My wedding ring is comfortable again. The rings on my right hand I am in serious danger of losing, which does make me said because they belong to my aunt who was murdered last June and I sort of really don't want to let go of them. I could get them resized but they were HERS and I just don't want to...they're probably going to join her wedding band on my necklace soon. So not my wedding ring, but I do know how you feel!0

yes, go to the jewelry store for an insert - I have heard great things.
Congrats!!!0 -
I used to wear mine on my necklace for a while when it was too tight. Now it fits pretty good, but when I walk or run my fingers swell up and sometimes it's a bit uncomfortable.0

Definitely this. I had to have one of those put on my class ring because it was a bit too big because I have large knuckles to get rings over. Worked great. I haven't worn my class ring in many years but if I remember correctly, the band has a little give. If I were ever to get an engagement/wedding ring, I'll need one of these again.0 -
You're smart to figure out a solution now. Mine were too loose when wet, so I started taking them off and putting them on a ring holder while doing dishes, showering, etc. One morning I forgot to put them back on, and when my housekeeper came later that day, one of the ladies stole my rings :sad:0
