How long does it take for water retention to go away? I slipped up last weekend and ate crap. I may have put on some weight, but the scale is telling me that I put on 3 lbs, which I think is mostly water, how long does it take for the water retention weight to go away?

I had a complete blowout of a weekend for a hen do, tues scales said i were up 4lb however today ( 1 week later) which is my usual weigh day i'm actually only up 1/2 lb all week until today I have been 3-4lb heavier so its taken 4 days for my true weight gain to show, not sure if this is the same time frame for everyone though :ohwell:0

I waited all week to lose my 3 lbs I gained last weekend from sodium, didn't happen, so this morning I took a water pill, and i lost that 3 pounds within an hour.
(weighed myself right when I woke up, took the pill, weighed an hour later, and lost those 3 lbs from a week ago.). it usually takes me 4 days, but this time the scale wouldn't budge until I took that water pill.0 -
Usually 3-4 days, faster if you take a water pill. Avoid taking water pills unless it is actually uncomfortable though. It isn't good to take those too often.0

Water weight gain totally drives me nuts! I hate it. So I'm in the same boat. Soon as that time of month hits...I'm 3 lbs heavier.0
