Exercise tips for a college girl?

I find maintaining an exercise routine much harder than eating healthy (which I'm sure will also become an issue as this semester goes on). I go to class 5 days a week and I work part-time. However, I still want fitness to be a priority for me.
Do you have any suggestions for 30-45 minute exercises I can do that will fit into my schedule and give me a good workout? Any ideas for the treadmill would be great, since my college gym has one and I want to start running but don't really know how.

Please, guys? I hardly ever post here, I'm only asking because I could really use the help.0

Firstly, does your college have a 24 hour gym? Mine does and it's only 120 for the year. With that you get to go to really fun classes for free. They are about 45 minutes long... including hip hop, kick boxing, and turbokick.
I've noticed the big thing to maintaining a workout regime is by simply changing it up every once in a while.
For instance the things i love to do most when working out is running, biking and rollerblading. I switch these in and out throughout the day. Other ways to involve exercise is by doing it when it's not necessary. Like if i was going to a friends house, I throw on my rollerblades, or i just walk instead of hopping into the car.
anyway, the biggest thing is to switch it up... don't strictly run till you turn blue in the face. Pick your three favorites and interchange them!
Hope this helps!0 -
PS. Google the Couch to 5k running plan. You will be running over three miles in under 9 weeks. I did it two years ago and it changed my life.0

Thank you so much! Unfortunately, my gym is not open 24 hours, but it is open most of the day and membership is free. There was a yoga class available that I loved, but not many people came and eventually they got rid of it. Now they do Zumba, which is fun, but not my favorite way to workout.
I love your suggestion about the C25k, I started it once, but never finished it. I was thinking of doing it again, and it's nice to know it worked for someone. Did you do it on a treadmill, or outside? I think I would feel safer on a treadmill, plus I have no way to measure how far or how fast I'm going when I'm outside.0 -
hey! i am 20 and i am in the same boat as you! what i do is i run for 30 minutes a day. that is my exercise. i use the c25k program and just finished with week 5 and i feel awesome! it is a great work out and only requires 30 minutes 3 times a week. or there is the 30ds which you can get cheap on amazon. that is 20 minutes a day!0

I'm much like you - full time student and working part time. My time is tiiight.
I've been doing Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred. It's 20 minutes a day. I do it in the morning before I leave for school. It's pretty tough and I've already seen results.0 -
I'm 20, too! Did you do it outside, or on a treadmill? Also, I LOVE Jillian's workout videos, I've done 30DS a couple of times and also Ripped in 30. I'll probably use her videos in between running to get in some strength training.
EDIT: That was for mgnmsn, I forgot to click "quote" instead of reply! Sorry, still getting used to these boards!0
