Looking for Easy Recipes That WONT Break my Wallet

Help I am in need of some easy healthy reciepes. One of my frustrations of eating healthy is not the taste of the food, but the cost of eating healthy. I am a single woman on a modest income. I can't afford to buy all these special herbs and flavored vinegars, but just eating chicken and egg whites get old after awhile. Any reciepes would be greatly appreciated.

What do you like to eat?
I don't buy special flavorings. I use garlic, salt, pepper, and hot pepper, and sometimes Johnny's or this nice non salt seasoning from Costco.
I try to go to fruit and veggie stands instead of grocery stores for vegetables and fruit. They are usually much cheaper than the stores and have better selections.
I find I have to go shopping more often on this new program, and I hate that. But I always look at all the deals and try to buy things that are cheaper, even if they aren't my first choice.
I realize this isn't helping you with actual recipes. I would suggest getting some recipe books from the library and just browsing through for ideas. You can do a search at the library for whatever type of recipes you want - vegan, low carb, high protein.
You can get some ideas maybe and make cheaper replacements. I do that a lot, and i also do if I like a recipe but it has stuff I don't like in it.
Also maybe look on All Recipe site, they have multitudes of recipes, and a lot seem really cheap actually.

I agree with the above post, goto local fresh fruit/veggie stands and get what's cheapest. I am fortunate to have a great stand close that has a "discount" section - you have to use it within the next 5/6 days. Well, I just choose from there and make my meals around it. I have never spent over $10 on veggies this way, and I'm a vegetarian. I eat a stupid amount of veggies.
Another great idea that works for me is a big, big salad once a day. I use the above veggies, but whatever works. I use some sort of canned bean (black beans/chickpeas/kidney) and add those to the salad with some olive oil/red wine vinegar. Make the salad as big as you want, and it's not going to be a big calorie expenditure and it will fill you up.

When I first started my weight loss program, I discovered the best cookbook. Since then theres been another book by the same author - who is a nutritionist that reworks popular recipes to be healthier.
My problem was I needed inexpensive options that would work for my wastline slimming down and also work for my husband (that was in no need of slimming & is all about flavor). 54lbs lost later and I still love the recipes ---- Eat What You Love & Eat More of What You Love.

I also get Oprah's news letter that includes lots of recipes, tips.
I also constantly check out the recipe forum. Another MFP had suggested cooking a large pot of the "cooked not microwave" oatmeal. She placed she pot in the refrigerator and took out what she needed each morning and heated the oatmeal in the microwave. So here's how I adapted her idea:
1/2 bag (2cups) Bob's Steel Oats, 6 cups nonfat milk with 4 eggs blended into cold milk(prewarm mixturemicrowave for 8 to 10 minutes for placing in pot to boil), 1 tablespoon maple syrup, vanilla, salt. This I cook as directed on package. I also add cinnamon and nutmeg. Each morning, I add 6 pecan halves chopped, 1 tablespoon dried cherries, more nonfat milk to my preference. Then heat morning oatmeal in microwave.
