Needing support to stay on track!

Hey all, I'm 31 from D.C. Recently, I've noticed myself gaining weight and I didn't know how to stop it. It wasn't until a friend pointed out that I've been eating junk and making excuses to exercise, that I realize how bad it's been getting. I used to be very good about keeping myself healthy, but I seem to have lost the motivation. Gaining 8 pounds in two months is just too much to handle, since it's harder to take it off.

So, I'm looking forward to the conversations in this forum, the advice and kind words everyone gives each other. I hope to make good friends, and pass along the support to others in need.

In case anyone wants the basic info, I'm 153 pounds, though I should be about 130-135, according to the doctor. Lowest I've been was 143, which was last year. I like to run, so I've been waiting for better weather, as I like to run outdoors. Oh, and I have asthma and a bad ankle.
