Low-carb vs. High-carb/ Protein, Fat %?

Hi, I'm trying to decide how to adjust my food goals percentage-wise, but I'm not sure which percentage cut I should take.
I'd like to eat a traditional healthy diet that includes whole grains, beans, lean meat and vegetables with very little dairy and and NO sugar.
The reason why I want to make sure my diet is this is because this is *almost* how I eat now... unfortunately I take in too much sugar at the moment. I haven't really noticed because the MFP breakdown puts carbs rather high, so I was like, "Hey, look at that! Granola and Vanilla yogurt CAN be part of a healthy diet! Yippee!"
I also don't want to go for the more severely restrictive high protein-low/carb diets because they make me feel sick and I find it disgusting to eat like that.
Any idea of how to break it down?
