Hello everyone!
i am participating in a 6 hour workout marathon on Saturday, to raise money for a new digital mammogram machine in my hometown.
http://bustamove.kintera.org/faf/donorReg/donorPledge.asp?ievent=312995&supid=277318398
Each hour we have an 18 minute break. How am I supposed to eat to fuel myself through the day? I have no idea! i've never done anything like this before. Help!!!!
Important note - no gluten allowed!
Thanks for your help (in advance)!

What an awesome charity event! And go you for signing up for it!
Tomorrow you might want to spend the day preparing small meals & snacks for yourself. Pack a couple baggies of trail mix. Costco & Target both sell AMAZING brands with 0 sodium.
Also maybe some liquid meal replacements like Ensure. They won't taste great at room temperature, but they'll keep you going!
Fruit is a great option too.
Also think of any meals you regularly prepare for yourself and see if you can maybe take them with you in some tuppeware. Turkey chili with low sodium kidney beans would be really yummy, so would stir fry.

trail mix and gatorade maybe. Raisins = sugar peanuts =protein and fat. It's hard for me to exercise with milk on my stomach. The easiest would be some kind of protein powder drink or runner's gel but I'm not sure if they are gluten free.
That is awesome you are doing it for charity. Good luck0 -
Water, water, water, drink , And fresh fruit is nice too. Good Luck, and have fun. and Remember why you are doing it.0

Actually watch out for over eating on something like that! There are protein bars that are GF called Think bars. I find them at Trader Joes. I would not take Gatorade or any PowerAdes unless you are actually over exerting or its really hot out. Its wasteful calories and those drinks arent meant to just drink b/c you are working out. I would take a lot of waters. Fruit like banana and apples. If you can there are travel peanut butters to dip the fruit into. You can pack GF crackers and some tuna fish or you can mix some tuna fish and wrap in lettuce or scoop it in tomotoes. I also love string cheese and some rolled up deli meat. Diestz and Watson is GF. There are also GF pretzels out there that arent bad
Good luck Have fun0 -

Thanks everyone.
Does anyone else have things to add? For example, should I eat a big bowl of pasta tonight? What should I have for breakfast? I can't be too full and work out, and we have no time to sit and eat apre-made meal (18 minute break each hour means break, get to baggage check, get bag, get stuff out of bag, eat, re-check bag and be back on floor).

I agree with the others. I think fruit ( a bag of stawberries already cut up and hulled, cut up some apple slices and put a little lemon juice on them to keep them fresh, some clementines already pealed) would be best. You really wont want to eat too much, and these should be relatively quick if you prepare before hand. You could also do the little cups of applesause.
Drink lots of water, and skip the gatorade.
If you think you are going to be really hungry, pack a very light sandwich or wrap.0
