Am I the only one...?

Sometimes I'll wake up and eat healthy and the entire day I'll feel satisfied with the way I look, feel thin, feel fit and confident. But then i'll go through periods of feeling fat again. That and sometimes even if I'm under my calorie goal ((200 calories remaining for example) I'll feel fat too.

Anyone else go through these periods of feeling fat and less confident?

I do the same thing constantly. For example, for the past three days I've felt great, thin and happy with myself. But come another day I'll go to feeling huge, unhealthy and just unhappy. You aren't alone!
  • Losing weight won't fix all your self-confidence issues. You'll feeling insecure about something else and projecting it onto your body.

Yeah I mean confidence has always been somewhat of an issue. I was just afraid I was the only person who would feel like they've made tons of progress for like a week straight, but then for a few days I'll feel fat or like I'm not making progress or i've regressed when I haven't gained any weight and have been below my calorie goal.

Lots of things, other than just our own mental state, can add to this. Water retention, sodium intake, food allergies, fat intake, and bloating from things like fruits and veggies can all add to this. Just remember, the way you are feeling that day is temporary and not a reflection of what is really there. It took me a while to realize that the dried apricots and almonds I ate everyday for lunch were making me bloat and feel "fat".

I even have this issue in one day. I will wake up and feel great. Then a few hours later, I will feel bloated and just fat.
It is definitely the mental aspect of losing weight. Unfortunately those problems don't go away with the pounds lost.

Happens to every1, just gotta use that as an incentive to hit the gym harder the next day
  • Yep .. all the time.

I only feel good when I have almost killed myself cycling 40 miles.

I dont think I look good - yet .. but that will happen.

    Its natural.

As Capt. Jack Sparrow would say, "Time and tide, Love"... and translation to give it time and the feeling will change if you let it. You have to keep in mind that your intake and out put of energy will balance out as long as you work on it. You are working to improve your body, don't forget to work at your mind and how it sees your progress. Everyone will have times where they feel less positive, but maybe if you write down why you are working on your fitness journey and what you are doing to improve yourself, it will help you get past this issue.

Good luck and hard work will get you there! :)

I agree with this. I'm always insecure about something, even after losing around 75 pounds. >.<
