Is there a health difference. I'm a huge Diet Caffeine Free Coke addict. But, yesterday I bought some Lipton and Splenda and thought I'd try doing tea for a while.

There's caffeine in the tea that was not in your caffeine-free Diet Coke, so beware of having the tea in the evening.
Nutritionally I don't think there's a big diff. Tea lovers will probably be praising the benefits of it though. (I don't like tea)0 -
aspartame is the reason I don't drink diet coke anymore miss it.
Does your lipton and splenda have it in? if so, i can't imagine there is much difference as the previous poster said.0 -

When i began my weight loss journey i used to have a headache quiet persistently, not enough to bother me greatly but annoying non the less. Drank diet coke almost exclusively (except water) and happened upon the effect of aspartame. I tried to cutting other stuff out of my diet, like chocolate and other high sugar things but didn't improve. Dropping diet coke worked and if i just can't resist and end up having some, i get a headache. (could be a coincedence but..)
ps it probably affected me before my healthly changes but my awareness of my body and what went in it made me look into it.0 -
The tea offers something beneficial, the diet coke is just totally worthless health wise. So in that regard, the tea is a better choice.
I must note that I just finished about 24 oz. of coke zero before posting...0 -
I drink Diet Rite cola. There is no sugar, caffeine, sodium, carbs, or calories. This is the only diet soda like it. Sweetened with splenda, no aspartame, or others. Ive noticed a large improvement in my concentration and memory.0

Diet sodas are terrible for your teeth because of the acidity. There are tons of articles on this if you Google. This one is good because it talks about both tea and soda.

carbonated drinks are pressurized with carbon dioxide, a gas that becomes an oxidant in our body, and it also lower our pH. Oxidants are similar to our cells as iron turning to rust as it oxidizes. As for the pH, a human body is balanced when it is alkaline, or between 7 and 8. Our bodies work continuously to keep our blood at 7.4, but many foods we eat work against that.
