I know! I have idea why, but I tend to just not weigh when she's in town. No point in disappointing yourself!0
-
Yep, happens every time. Just stay away from the scale at that time.0
-
Also, don't forget that when you eat under your recommended calorie intake - you could be putting your body into starvation mode and during your Aunt's visit - your body is actually needing more nutrients than less. Increase your iron intake and protein and you will probably see a better result during the visit. Also, it will help you to feel more energetic to do things like take a walk.0

Ok I am so glad I am not alone!0

I switch to maintenance calories when she's in town because I know my body is evacuating a lot of nutrients and I need to make up for it.0
-
Yup, the cravings are usually due to things we run low on ....(Protein: I get like ...'NEED MEAT' cravings often, Iron, ect...)
You also bloat and your body retains water...
Though honestly...3 days isn't a whole lot of time. Weather you're on your cycle or not.
I used to weigh myself constantly, and I find it's better to do it once a week at the most.
Also depending on what your workout is like you could be gaining muscle mass, which is great!0 -
First, why are you weighing yourself everyday? Second, if you look hard enough you will find 100's of posts on here about the negative effects of NOT eating enough...Third, if you look hard enough you will find tons (ha, no pun) of information about 'muscle weighing more than fat' IF you are working out. Forth -- I don't, but lots of people also measure themselves vice weighing or with weighing, have you tried that?
Fifth, I rarely gain "girly weight" so I cannot really relate to this problem, although on the 1 or 2x a year I do, it's A LOT, and my diet has a lot to do with it.0 -
no kidding... i gain easily 7 to 10 lbs of water weight aweek before. the day i start bam its gone..wtf???0
-
Yes. I typically stall for almost a week and then see a huge drop. So hang in there! It's just water weight obscuring your actual fat loss.
You really do want to aim to MEET your calorie goal. Don't worry if you're within 100 calories on either side, but don't aim to be significantly under.0 -
i HATE that.. i dont even get on the scale if its that time for me on my weigh in day0
-
I avoid the scale during "lady times". It's depressing if you are really looking at the numbers hoping for a change and that change is up. In general I only weigh once a week but if that log in day is in the middle of lady times, I skip it and will log in on the next one. It's not worth the frustration IMO.0

Same! Always happens to me. And I get way too bloated I need a whole new wardrobe!! Pain!! But I've started taking water retention tablets. So I'll see how it goes0

From now on I will never do my weigh ins on these days LOL thanks guys0

Does anyone else's "Aunt" stay with them for a week to 10 days? Does that mean I can only lose weight for 3/4 of the month?0

Avoid the scale like the plague right before and during.0

No... it just means don't step on the scale for the 1/4 of the month. You can continue your diet, exercise, and healthy choices, and it will show on the scale *after* your period is over.0 -

Yes, I am *blessed* with that length. Doc always raise their eyebrows at that but then tell me I am perfectly healthy, so I'm just lucky!
If you are following your plan, then you will still lose weight, you just might not see it during TOM as the water weight obscures your loss on the scale. Then you'll see a larger than normal drop right afterwards.0 -
Yep, happens every time. Just stay away from the scale at that time.
Yep, this is what I do. I get frustrated too, so I just stay away!0 -
I usually lose more the next week or two it seems. Slow the week of but after it usually makes up for it. If I stay on track that is. lol0

Mine is a solid 7 damn days, every time. The days before, and the first half I don't even bother getting on the scale. The end of it isn't so bad.0 -
I have to admit, I haven't seen a weight gain or stall during my cycle. I usually up my water and still try to workout as much as i normally do, and stay at my calorie limit. 1-2 days out of the 5-6 i am on it, i may go over but i usually aim to stay under 1500. (my normal intake is 1300). I'm "there" now and weigh in day is tmrw. I weighed yesterday morning unofficially as a check seeing as the night before my hun was home (he works oil so is gone a lot) and we had a nice dinner and i knew for sure my sodium was up (i didnt log dinner as i turned off my computer when he got home). I was actually down 2lbs and then i double checked it this morning and i was actually 2.5lbs down after the water i chugged and exercising I did. Let's hope when I officially weigh in tmrw morning I've still go the same numbers lol. So far...aunt dot has been kind to me minus the cramps and fatigue! :grumble:0
