I had a page from a magazine with a bunch of them, but I lost it. :-( Anyone have any good salad dressing recipes??? I'm not looking for anything super fancy, just something simple.

    I make bread dressing

1/2 to 1 loaf of bread, torn into small chunks - can use white or wheat
minced onion (1/4-1/2 an onion, depending on how much bread)
    minced celery - 1-2 stalks
chicken broth (can used store bought or homemade, if roasting turkey, use the cooking juices) enouigh to moisten bread - want consistency to be thick. but thoroughly wet.
    salt
pepper all seaonings to personal taste
    sage
can also chop giblets and add if you have them

pour into lightly greased baking dish & bake ~1/2 hour at 350 F.

Obviously this is a recipe that I just make by sight/taste - I don't really measure anything. I'm from the midwest of the US & this is how my family makes for Thanksgiving.

OOPS - too early in morning - I mis-read what you were asking for---you do NOT put this on salad. Some people call this stuffing. Getting more coffee now.
  • LOL! I know, I caught that I just said dressing in my topic, and I went back to edit and I can't change the topic title. :-( Sounds good though!!!!

my go-to dressing is always balsamic vinegar, olive oil, mustard, salt and pepper.

an awesome one I've recently discovered (very good for potato salad, coleslaw or anywhere else that you want creaminess without mayonnaise) is tahini (sesame paste that's in hummus) (3T), lemon juice (1/4 cup), garlic (1 clove), water (2T), salt and pepper.

another one good for asian salads is light peanut butter (3 parts), soy sauce (1 part), rice wine vinegar (3 parts), sesame oil (1 part), olive oil (1 part), lemon juice (2 parts).
