weight loss = smaller clothes size??

Ok, I have lost almost a stone and my trousers are baggy around my waist but a size smaller is still to tight,:grumble: so how much weight in stones or pounds lol, should i expect to lose before i should be able to fit into smaller clothes.
Ive taken 9 weeks to lose this weight,going steady at it, but no one who dont know im on a diet has even noticed any change in the way I look.:frown:

It took about 20-30 pounds (not sure how many stones that would be) before people started to notice for me. As long as YOU can see the difference, that's all that should matter right now. Keep at it & everyone will realize in due time.0

Sadly it all depends on the clothing manufacturer as to how much they put between sizes. Some of my clothes I'm down two sizes and some not even one after 20 pounds. So there's no magic formula for it.
As for others noticing-don't bother waiting on it. Some never will, others might notice and be afraid to mention it. All in all, I tend to eschew the comments of others about my body. They weren't nice when I was gaining and I don't expect them to be nice when I'm losing, either.0 -

Yep. For me it was closer to 40 pounds. It just depends on how big you started and where the fat decides to go first. I've not gone down a pant size because my belly is being stubborn but I have gone down in shirt size because my boobs decided they wanted to go first. :grumble:0 -
Depends on how much you have to lose
I drop a size every 10 lbs, but I had only 30 lbs to lose, the bigger you are, the bigger gap between sizes.
Also we tend to use cloths even if they are tight, so dropping first size always takes longer. My old big clothes were all streched out about 1 size because I was wearing them even when they were too small.0 -
My pants got baggy almost instantly but I'm still finding one size lower a touch tight. It depends on where the fat comes from. I know I lose quite evenly but likely I will be able to wear them comfortably in about another 5 lbs. I had to buy a new belt however!0

Be patient with it. I was the same way. Trying to exercise all the time and eating right everyday with no kind of recognition...and then BAM! Everyone noticed how in shape I was and clothes were literally falling off from being too big. I will say though it took a good 2-3 months before my clothes were way too big and people were noticing the difference. I've learned with weight lose that patience is a virtue. Don't give up! Keep going and soon you'll be seeing, feeling, and hearing a difference from people.0

Weight loss does produce smaller clothes size!!
I am 58 and have ALWAYS been in size 34 jeans and moved up to a 36 and I was FED up with the weight gain. All my life I have been Overweight-
So when my wife joined MFP I did also as a support to her. Now I swim laps 2 to 3 days a week, run when I can-indoors and out, and bike-weather dependent.
LONG Story short---In the short time I have been using MFP I have gone from a FAT 36 to a cool slim 32 jean size, with only 15 pounds weight loss!!!! From 205 to 190....
I have a completely NEW wardrobe-and yes I shop a Salvation Army thrift store-you can find GOOD buys there, but you have to be choosy, just look at what people put in the bins!!!!!0 -
