30lbs lost, 20lbs to go! (With pics)

I've always been overweight, but last November I reached my heaviest wight: 175lbs, and I knew something had to change. At 5'2" I was beyond overweight, I was unhealthy. After walking up a flight of stairs, I would be out of breath. I felt terrible about my appearance. My measurements were 46-36-45.

So with my boyfriend's encouragement, I started small. First, I started changing how I at by limiting how many sweets I was eating, and exercising. The beginning was so hard for me, because I wasn't really seeing results and it was so hard to change old habits. But, little by little, the weight started to come off. I reached 161lbs in March 2012. And 150lbs in June 2012. But then I hit a plateau, and I ended up joining MFP as a way of getting encouragement, recording my calories, and tracking my progress. Fast forward to a little over a month later and I have lost five pounds and some inches too! I am now at 145lbs, and my measurements are 40.5-28.5-40. I only have 20lbs left to lose, and I couldn't be more hopeful!

Awesome job! we are similiar in height and starting weight. i am curious what exercises yuo did? i am having a hard time sticking to anything! help? :)

I did an array of exercise videos.

When I was first starting out I used: The Booty Barre, Jackie Warner's Xtreme Timesaver Training, and 10 Minute Solutions Pilates.

Now I mostly use: Peak 10 Cardio Interval, Peak 10 Cardio Strength, Piloxing, Leah Sarango's Ballet Body, Squeeze + Squeeze Stronger (these two videos have helped the most though). And I recently bought Pop Physique dvds, which is nice on lighter days. I also stretch a lot.

For me, exercise was awful until I found something I really enjoyed. I love pilates and barre workouts, so I tend to mostly do videos that incorporate that. I started out doing 10 minutes a day, as well, and every week, I would try a bit harder, go a bit longer.

I used to belong to a gym, but that's so expensive. At the gym I would do the elliptical, walk briskly on the treadmill, or use the exercise bike for 45 minutes at a time. I did this about 3x a week.

    Best of luck!
