Hi Lisa... my name is Sandy ...it'll be 2 yrs end of November since my surgery. I am in the same boat. I was thrown into peri menopause and having a hard time dropping the 20lbs I put on from everything.
If you'd like a buddy to help out I'd be happy... I too could use a motivator and any tips you have to share.0 -

I was stage 3b, 6 out of 17 nodes were positive.. haven't had my ovaries taken yet but plan on it real soon. Better to be safe than sorry. I agree it would be nice to go on the battle with someone who knows the hardships and relates. I'm sure others will join us.
Did they find it in your lymphnodes too? I really haven't talked to anyone who walked the same path as I , it'll be nice to have someone else to be strong with!
If'd you'd like we can friend request each other?0 -
I had 3 out of 14 positive. Did 8 rounds no radiation. The ovaries were an option...took it being est + I sleep better at night! I don't know how to friend req. new today.....sure we can figure it out! Love to have your help.... need all I can get !!!! hahhahaaaaa

Thankfully it is not something I have had, but my Mum had it so it is always a worry :-(
But my Mum survivied it after having a breast removed. Sadly she passed away some years ago with something completely unrelated. She did really well in her weight loss!
I just want to say that I wish you all well and hope you all reach your goal weights real soon, but more importantly keep healthy x0 -
I'm 3 years out from surgery and radiation. Did not do chemo. I had clean nodes--I blessedly caught my cancer very early on. However, being post-menopausal (and on estrogen-squelching medication), weight loss has been a HUGE challenge. Earlier this year, after a pre-hypertension diagnosis, I gave myself a kick in the *kitten* and got serious. I don't know why a cancer diagnosis wasn't enough to do that.......... Anyway, I'm down 30# since Easter, with 40 more to go. And it WILL go, "ailments" or not!!0

BTW, Sandy & Lisa, I'd be happy to have you friend request me!0

I got it..kinda new here myself, been bouncing back and forth..need to be serious not getting any younger..hahaha
Wow so you just did the chemo? i had full nine yards.. 20 rounds of chemo, 4 of the adriamycin/cytoxan and then 12 of the can't remeber the name right now..it began with a T..yikes senior moments having been coming early..LOL
So you just jonied today? I did a year ago but just learning more about the site. I downloaded the app for my phone too.. I'm trying to be faithful..it's hard on the weekends..LOL0 -
I would be happy to Raven...
ps it took my son to say something to my husband to kick me in the *kitten*.. he just came back from over seas we visited him before labor day.. henice the seriousness just starting...0 -
I had it 18 years ago, when I was only 37, and my children were in first and second grade. I'm happy to say they are both grown and married now (no grandkids yet), and one has graduated college with the other graduating this December. I gained 40 lbs. during my chemotherapy and went through early menopause, too. Since that time, I have gone through a divorce, and it's taken me 10+ years to get my self-esteem at a point where I have started this journey for ME because I finally feel as if I'm worth it. I'd be happy to share this journey with others who have been through similar issues. Perhaps we can start a group on this site (if one doesn't already exist).0

My sis is a bc survivor and she is now waiting for reconstruction. She has to lose some before the reconstruction and I am helping her by being her weight loss partner and workout partner as well....she is doing awesomeeeeeeeee...I don't think she had a more difficult time than anyone one else or an easier time seems the same to me ...she is on medication that causes weight gain too ...so not sure.0

I am a bc survivor of three years. mine was caught early - radiation - no chemo. I am also on estrogen blocking medication and gained twenty pounds as it put me into menopause. I have since lost fifteen pounds and have fifteen more to go. I think upping protein intake at every meal helps.0

Hi may name is Darlene,
I was diagnoised with breast cancer this February, had 4 rounds of chemo and a double mastectomy in June. I joined a local gym two weeks ago, the nutritionist there told me about this site. I was lucky I didn't gain any weight during all of this, but I need to lose about 25 pounds.0 -
