Why is the fasting part easier?

I have been shocked since I started intermittent fasting. Not only has the fasting part not been nearly as hard as I imagined, but I actually look forward to it MORE than the feeding part. It's almost as if the stress of having to make good eating choices 24 hours a day is gone...when it's fasting time, that's it, no thinking "oh, I've been good, I can have this bit of chocolate". Can't have it, too bad. Strangely, this all or nothing feels so much easier.

I definitely know how you feel. I'm recovering from anorexic tendencies and sometimes eating at my BMR is a struggle. It's so much easier to just say screw it and decide not to eat anything than to make consistently good food choices. I might have to look into intermittent fasting when I'm out of school; it sounds like a good fit for me. (:0

You both sound, sorry to say this, a little bit ill. If you are recovering from anorexia why do you think fasting would fit in well if you can barely eat at your bmr right now? Talk to a professional and please get some help, you're eating disorder is not in recovery at all.

Totally know how you feel, I'm currently in recovery from Anorexia and I struggle to let myself get over 1000 calories!0

Giving oneself fasting days is a way to take control For me lack of eating did not make me thin. It made me fat. Allowing myself to not eat for 19 hours and knowing I need to eat during 5 is a lot less stressful than feeling that I have to eat x amount all through the day. I am actually eating more consistently now then before.
And your judgment about the eating disorder not being in recovery should have come after you checked how far along in their process they are. For all you know the fact that someone is eating at all could be a big improvement over not eating.0 -

I appreciate your concern but I think perhaps I wasn't clear. What I meant was, when I'm eating "regularly" all I want to do is eat...its all I think about. With IF because certain times are off limits I feel like it relieves that constant thought of what I can and can't eat.0
