I have a question and am not sure if I should be worried or not but, when I started my journey to a healthier me on Jan 4th 2010. I was on my monthly. I know this week I have been showing signs of it coming but, all of a sudden the signs are no longer there. :ohwell:

I have been taking in 11-15 glasses of water, been working out to high impact cardio workouts, riding the spin bike & lifting weights every other day!!! (Working out 6x a week)

Have any of you experienced this irregularity in your monthly once you began working out & eating cleaner?
Feedback is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Your system could just be adjusting. I didn't have irregularity necessarily, but my tom got heavier and lasted fewer days.
  • I've definitely experienced irregularities once I started working out and it happens to a lot of women--it's pretty normal and your body should adjust after a while

I haven't noticed that, but you could be maybe Preggo?
  • I am sure your body is just not used to all the exercise. I know that most female professional swimmers dont menstruate regular at all because of so much exercise.

I have not noticed but only been on here a short time and I have PCOS

in a week or two I will be at my TOM, I'm never regular, but I'm always painful and heavy! I usually miss a day of work even. it sucks! I started this program the week of my last period. I will let u know how the next one goes! is it close to your Tom? if your a week or less away, take a preggo test. that can give you peace of mind!

Do you know your cycle? I didn't realize mine went from 28-32 day cycles until I started trying to get pregnant. Then I went "OH, that's why it's not happening!" I have noticed a slight difference in timing of my period (smaller gap in the irregularity) and a difference in flow, but I can't tell if it's from weight loss or finally seeing a specialist for my thyroid problem.

WOW!!! A lot of great replies thank you! :flowerforyou:

I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one to be experiencing this. My cycle is like clock work. A week before it gets here, I get bloated & have very light cramps, a bit of spotting & want to eat everything, including the kitchen sink if it weren't nailed down!!! I went through eating 2 chocolate covered cupcakes on Tuesday & all of the above symptoms. I was hoping it would have arrived already but NADA!!!!

Yeah thicansxy, I goggled it as well & WeMD & it said that missed periods are common in Endurance athlete's but, are the workouts I'm doing really qualified as Endurance?

Or does it, being that I went from doing no exercise to 6 days a week? (7 days for the 1st 2 weeks)

I will keep you all posted to let you know how it goes!!! Thanks again!!! :flowerforyou:

I work with two girls that do fitness competitions (which is like a hot version of body building), and neither one of them have had periods for about a year! My periods are always irregular, but I noticed that my periods became even more irregular when I started working out. It's very normal. Just keep an eye on it over the next few months to be sure. I'm no doctor, but that's my advice.

Whewww!!! Thank you Robbien & Kylie for replying. I am feeling more at ease reading up on it & having your OBGYN confirm such changes, really makes my day!
    Thank you so much! :flowerforyou:
